SURFERS: there are links to thousands of surf breaks on this map - display breaks from the information overlay pulldown and click blue symbol for a detailed forecast from surf-forecast.com where there are over 5000 detailed forecasts for surf breaks around the globe.

SKIERS: you can also link to ski resorts if you choose the ski resort location overlay. Click red symbol for a detailed forecast from Snow-Forecast.com where there are over 2000 detailed forecasts for ski resorts.

The large scale weather maps make no attempt to model local topographic effects which is why there are always large disparities with the detailed and more accurate snow maps. Essentially these are raw GFS model maps with minimal topographic considerations.
