Le Lac Blanc is located in the heart of the Vosges massif, surrounded by the Natural Parc of the Ballons des Vosges. Le Lac Blanc offers mainly easy to intermediate skiing that is much closer to the UK and Netherlands than the Alps. It is often ignored by drivers heading south. This happens even when conditions are ideal at Le Lac Blanc such as was often the case in the winter of 2005/2006.
