Lacu Roşu Ski Resort Guide (resort name also written as Lacu Rosu)
Lacu Roşu is a small ski resort on the shores of Lacu Roşu at 980m, located 26 km from Gheorgheni and 32 km from Bicaz. The lake formed after an enormous landslide, in 1837, dammed the Bucaz river. A highlight of the skiing, on the Suhardul Mare Massif, is the Suhard piste. This is a fairly long (2.4km) and steepish run (600m of vertical). There are 2 lifts to facilitate 2 trails within 3 kms of piste at Lacu Roşu. Many other natural attractions are nearby Lacu Roşu, apart from the skiing, making this a year-round resort.
