La Tania summary
La Tania is a small, friendly resort that is quiet and relaxing but provides easy access to Les 3 Vallées; the biggest linked ski area in the world. Skiing in the 3 valleys has something for everyone and you won't get bored. Facilities are excellent. La Tania itself is quieter and cheaper than its neighbours such as Meribel. Night-life is quiet too but you can get taxis from La Tania to the bigger centres if you desire. All in all, La Tania is a good option for cheaper access to the 3 valley resort area.

We were in La Tania in Jan 06. Its quiet, but great access to Courcheval and the rest of the Three Valleys. The green back into La Tania is a big improvement, though for a real beginner it could be a bit demanding..better catch the bus back from 1850!
Pub Le Ski Lodge is hot and smokey, v noisy and Sky Sports on the big screen ( you get the picture? ) So try the Taiga Bar for a more chilled evening.
Seems to be 90% Brits in resort, some Dutch and French. We stayed in Chalet Celementine ( Ski Magic) which was OK, but a bit crowded : they said they would reduce the numbers of people down to 12 or 14 in the Chalet for '07, so if they are offering Chalet Clementine for 16 people then think about it, it will be crowded and there will not be room for you all to sit down at night! .
All in all I would recommend La Tania if you are into your skiing and are not too worried about ripping it up at night. Kids will like it, too.
