Snowfall warning for North Island New Zealand Issued 24 July at 10am local time. A deepening sub-tropical depression will quickly cross North Island on Saturday accompanied by a short period of gales and heavy rain. Expect easterly blizzard conditions to develop on Ruapehu as well as the ranges from the Tararuas to the Kawekas and perhaps even further north. A Cool SE flow with further bands of snow for mountains elsewhere. Many resorts have seen more than 20cm snow over the past 24hrs.

23km of low altitude skiing at Bohinjska Bistrica in the north-west corner of Slovenia, NW of Ljubljana. Mainly beginner to intermediate level pistes on wooded slopes, with 6 lifts and extensive snow making. The longest piste is 6km and falls by a respectable 940m. The only Slovenian ski resort accessable directly by train.

Visited Kobla and stayed with Kerry and Don in their home halfway up the mountain side 1 - 4 March 2007. Woke up every morning to the sight of Triglav from our bedroom window. We are not skiers but spent our days walking and taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Many photo opportunities of Kobla, Bohinj, Bled and Vogul. Kerry and Don made us very welcome and I cannot imagine a better location, recommend you try it out. We have already booked ourselves in for a week in September to swim in the lake, walk, enjoy the views and may even have a go at white water rafting.
