The seven mountains of Killington are all interconnected by a system of 87 miles of trails. Killington is the largest ski resort in the Eastern United States, with the widest variety of terrain. The vertical drop is a very impressive 3,050 feet and is the greatest in New England. This is the showplace of the American Ski Company network and is located just up the hill from Rutland, Vermont. Last year the snow making was expanded once again . It is already the nation's most extensive system. Base facilities have been improved and there is a new Super Pipe at the Killington base.

Visitor Reviews of Killington

Tom Travis from UNITED STATES writes:

Killington is a huge area with 212 trails dropping down six distinct peaks and can hold one's interest for a week of skiing. It makes loads of snow and conditions generally are very good. However, the lower 1300 feet (or so) of Killington's much advertised 3,000 foot vertical can only be fully accessed from a long, easy, tedious trail or two; otherwsie its verticals from Skye and Killington peaks are a much more modest 1600-1750 feet, and less from the other summits. Also, accessing the trails from the top of Killington and Skye peaks can be confusing and Killington can get very crowded. I actually prefer skiing at its sister resort, Pico Peak, which has six wonderful trails winding down from its summit.
