Hochkönigs Winterreich wirbt mit "unschlagbaren Preisen". Freilich bekommt man auch auf der Alm nichts geschenkt. Wer sich dafür entscheidet, der legt sein Urlaubsgeld aber gut an. Zahlreich sind die Almhütten, offen die Stuben und gastlich die Orte entlang der Hochkönig-Skischaukel mit ihren beeindruckenden Basisdaten: 45 Lifte und 150 Abfahrtskilometer auf überwiegend roten, also mittelschweren Pisten. Sieht man etwas genauer hin, dann sind davon allerdings nur rund 100 Pistenkilometer zu einer echten Skischaukel verbunden. Doch das stört hier keinen.
