The friendly people on the "saddle", as the locals affectionately call the Feuerkogel, make it very easy for your guests to feel great, so they can leave the grind of daily life behind them in the valley. The Feuerkogel cable car which runs to 1600 metres altitude, right up into the middle of the adventure mountain village, provides very good accessibility from Ebensee am Traunsee. For leisure-focussed winter athletes, beginners and families the little ski circus on the high plateau, which has nine lifts and the best prepared pistes, provides safe fun in the snow. Tourers and snow-shoe hikers hold this most beautiful plateau in high regard as a starting point for tours of all difficulty levels, while ambitious winter athletes will find their own special challenge in the six kilometre unprepared descent into the valley. Winter enthusiasts who would like to see the Feuerkogel in a different light can do just that on a snow-shoe or torch-lit hike, on a ski tour, a sled ride or on the popular night-time ski run. Ski school on top! The skiing and snowboarding schools in the mountain station are happy to help and provide equipment hire and professional tips for skiing. The Feuerkogel team also put on an individual ski race with electronic time measurement, course setting and a presentation ceremony. After so much fresh air and exercise local delicacies and regional delights tempt you to indulge in a well-deserved culinary ‘sinful’ treat. Those who have an appetite for sun and snacks really get their money’s worth in the mountain village of Feuerkogel, on the cosy terraces and in the homely snugs in the five mountain guesthouses. In winter there also some fantastic events. The children’s snow festival, the Nostalgia ski race, the ‘Saukopfspringen’ ski jump and lots of exciting events await energetic guests.
