Dombai Ski Resort Guide
Dombai is one of the most popular resorts of the Northern Caucasus (1600 m above sea level.) There is always a lot of snow in winter. The southwest slopes of the mountain, Myssa-Achitara, are the best for skiing. A 2-km pendular road is built at Dombai for mountain skiers. There are also 5 chair lifts and 3 large ski trackers. The trace extent of the slope at Dombai is 3.5 km and the width of the slope is 500 m. The relief of the slope is varied and can cater for any taste and any level of experience. Hotels 'Solnechnaya Dolina', 'Snezhinka' and 'Gornye Vershiny' are available for mountain skiers. Alpine hostel 'Alibek' is located 3.6 km to the west from Dombai glade where skiing is organized on the slopes of Semenov-Bashy and on the glacier near kotal Jalovchat. Several 'bar' lifts are available at Dombai.
