Visitor Reviews of Cooper Spur

Greg from UNITED STATES writes:

Hey folks, Cooper Spur is what it is. It is a great place to learn to ski. Other than that, it is not all that special. Cooper Spur is not a resort. There are a few cabins, but you have to shuttle to the slopes. And at the slope, there is only a snack bar and a restroom, so don't set your sights high. But it certainly fitted into a budget last season. We were able to do the family pass for the year and got in about 10 days and really got our money's worth. But where else can you go and get a lift ticket and rentals for $30? It is the baby brother to Mount Hood Meadows. Go to Cooper Spur to learn for the first time. Or even to work on your technique on the cheap. Their lessons don't end until you learn to do it. How great is that. We are not beginners, but our family found it to be a great tune up before our annual trip to Colorado. Dust off the cobwebs, as it were. My wife who normally is pretty scared, got some good experience and was able to negotiate much more terrain in Colorado. In essence, the small investment at Cooper Spur made her time in Colorado much more fulfilling.
Use Cooper Spur for what it is intended for, a place to learn without the big price tag. The 07-08 season had lots of snow which helped quite a bit. This 08-09 season has not had any yet so that might put the dampers on Cooper Spur.
