Skiing has taken place here since before the Second world war. The present tow is a 400m Montaz Mautino fixed grip button lift. Installed by Club Members in the summer of 1989 it operates most winters. Last season the first skiing took place in October but the season came to a very premature end in mid February.

| Depends how keen on skiing you are Candy. If you live in the North of England then Raise or the north Pennines will be your 'local' hill. If your into attractive landscapes with mountains then it the Lake District National Park is probably one of the best in Europe. By the way the snow is lying naturally and hasn't been moved. It simply drifts into this shape and depth which is why the tow is here in the first place. | |

| jimmy | hrm that looks like a number of tows in scotland, notice how they've taken all the snow from the surrounding area to try and keep the tow open longer than a month(which is about the length of a scottish season :cry: ). |
