The group of the Brenta Dolomites belongs to the Rhaetian Alps district. The name has been given by the French geologist, Deodat de Dolomieu, who first discovered the composition of those rocks. The whole mountain chain is 40 km long and 12 km wide. The highest peak is the Cima Tosa (3173 m). Photographer: Franz Wechselberger
