Snowfall warning for North Island New Zealand Issued 24 July at 10am local time. A deepening sub-tropical depression will quickly cross North Island on Saturday accompanied by a short period of gales and heavy rain. Expect easterly blizzard conditions to develop on Ruapehu as well as the ranges from the Tararuas to the Kawekas and perhaps even further north. A Cool SE flow with further bands of snow for mountains elsewhere. Many resorts have seen more than 20cm snow over the past 24hrs.

Bluewood in the United States (Washington State) is a very small ski resort with just three ski lifts (2 chair lifts, 1 surface lift) but it does boast a respectable 343 metres (1125 feet) of vertical descent. Bluewood has 355 acres of terrain. Bluewood is best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for beginners and advanced skiers. Bluewood is not the place to go if you're worried about how your hair looks with the new set of earmuffs, or if your boots match your coat. No, Bluewood is the place to go if you like short lift lines, great dry snow, the most amazing tree riding in Washington, and laid back people. On second thought, I like it the way it is. Forget what I said. It sucks at Bluewood. Don't come here and ruin it for me.
P.S. They're not open on Mondays, so don't waste the drive.
