Belalp is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike and for good reason. This is an outstanding ski area. Some of the runs compare favourably with almost anything else in the Alps. The 6 seater chair lift runs up the main part of the slope, down which there are numerous pistes that feature both technical sections and slopes of varying gradients and width to let it go or show your style as you wish! At the top there are two T bars that offer some excellent challenges both on and off piste. The skiing and the scenery will take away what breath you have left at 10,000ft. The only downside to this resort is the access cable car that is simply too small to cope with demand. Early in the day you have to queue for up to an hour to get to the slopes during high season and parking can be well away from the base station. A new cable car is due in 2014 and not before time. Apart from that gripe though this is an absolute gem.
