Eyeball surf report
  1. eyeball reporterAnonymous Report: Snowing lightly at Akakura Champion. No wind here. Feeling cold here today. Every lift is open. Good snow on the pistes. Varied snow off-piste today.
  2. Banner 3Nozawa Holidays After yesterday’s little hiccup great to see the snowy and cold conditions return with a vengeance this morning. It started to snow late last night just as my head was hitting the pillow and has continued all day today, pretty heavy at times. The resort is reporting 20cm but a few riders coming down the hill said maybe more with boot high plus powder in some spots . Temps are nice and cold too was -9 degrees early this morning and about -5 degrees now.

Other resorts in Japan - Niigata are reporting: powder (0) / good piste (0)

Visitor Reviews of Akakura Kanko

Stale from Sweden writes:

Akakura Kanko ski area was amazing when I came to ski with the amazing backcountry and deepest powder. I stayed at a great local hostel in Akakura Myoko Powder hostel. My hosts were very knowledgeable of the local area and the backcountry riding available. I recommend Akakura and the Myoko area to everyone.
Thank you, Stale.
