Afri-Ski summary
Situated in the country of Lesotho at 3222m above sea level in the
northern part of the Maluti Mountains, Afri-Ski the closest ski resort
to Gauteng, Natal and the Free State, offers skiing and snowboarding
to all from beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders.
Afri-Ski hosted its first successful skiing season in June through
August 2005 where around 3000 tourists, mostly South Africans, visited
the resort and 2500 skiers enjoyed to ski the longest ski slope in
Africa. In 2007 the resort received more than 4,000 visitors.
The resort of Afri-Ski is 4½ hours' drive from Johannesburg South Africa via the
steep tarred Moteng pass and the Mahlasela pass and is one of only two
skiing resorts in Africa.
