We were only there two evenings, but were unhappy with both restaurants that we chose for dinner. They were identified as the best or better ones in town. However, we did not enjoy it. We really would’ve enjoyed some good seafood. Decision to stay there was only to see high Ridge in the Olympics and it was fantastic.

Although we were only there for 1 night as we moved on to Vancouver Island the following day, Port Angeles seemed to have the quaintness of a small town, but with plenty of facilities. Obviously the proximity to Olympic NP & ferry services are the main plusses.

Port Angeles is centrally located to all the natural areas you would like to visit. Many places are closed at the beginning of the week. Cruise ship comes in and that makes restaurants really busy at dinner time. Plan ahead if you want to eat somewhere nice. Kokopelli Grill was nice and food was good but getting a seat took awhile. Some people couldn’t be seated. Try to get the shuttle that goes to Hurricane Ridge then you can go anytime. If you are a car, you’ll have to get up there early.

Stayed in Port Angeles because it was so close to Hurricane Ridge in the national Park. Had dinner at Joshua's restaurant next to the Super 8. The pictures hanging on the walls of the restaurant are good enough to be in an art gallery--very impressed!

I'm weird because I love clouds and rain, and I hate heat. P.A.has my ideal climate.
The town is just the right mix of city and suburbs. The houses and neighborhoods are all so cute and wonderful. I am seriously considering moving there.

The hotel sits between two one way streets that handle most of the traffic through town. We asked for a quiet room away from the road but alas with traffic on both sides of the hotel, loud vehicles were noticeable (trucks, motorcycles, even souped up cars with loud mufflers).
In the morning our tent was found encircled by a bunch of graceful deers. It was an exquisite encounter that remains unparalleled in its beauty and wonder.
Experience:
- Just 30 mins from Port Angeles
- The tent comes with a bed covered in high thread count sheets, plush down comforter, fleece blankets and pillows, side tables, butterfly chairs and a rug. So NO SET-UPS, NO SLEEPING BAGS OR EXTRA BLANKETS NEEDED.
- RV flush style toilets, sinks and showers. No kidding they were super superrr clean!
This is my second time staying at Motel Angeles and I will plan to stay here again if I am back in the area. Lovely, comfortable motel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and have great amenities including a large fridge, microwave and coffee maker as well as newer, large TVs. It is conveniently located and a great resting spot for exploring Olympic Nat Park and other beautiful areas around Port Angeles in addition to downtown Port Angeles, nearby restaurants. Highly recommend!
The hotel felt like a scene from 'The shining' with Jack Nicholson. No pictures on the walls, no plants. Just basic utilitarian facilities. The rooms were effectively huge boxes but had very very comfy mattresses/beds. Extremely clean and plenty of room with TV. Had a balcony overlooking the workers/builders yard who were renovating the hotel. Woke us up early but that was fine. The place works for the purpose but has no character at all.
We had a pleasant one-night-stay here. The owner were very friendly and we could even check in a lot earlier than planned. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, water and coffee was available and located very close to the Olympic National Park. Would recommend it to everyone who passes through Port Angeles for a stay.
Looked on Tripadvisor for the best Travelers ranking in Port Angeles and this is what came up. Extremely disappointed….Save your money and book a cheaper hotel you will get the same facility for a lot less. What a rip-off!
Front staff was very delightful on check-in and that was the best part of Quality Inn Uptown.
Hotel offered breakfast and free laundry across the street in their other hotels. Bathroom was pretty large and had good water pressure in the shower. Location was great for exploring the Hurricane Ridge area of Olympic National Park, and walking distance to the downtown area for restaurants and shops.
Great location and reasonable price. The staff member at check-in was so pleasant and helpful for our post-midnight arrival and accommodated my last minute request for a crib. FREE laundry facilities. Comfortable beds. Good little breakfast buffet. This is an older place, but felt nice and clean.
Front desk and breakfast staff were provided excellent, friendly service. Our room was spacious and very clean. Pillows were very comfortable! We received great recommendations for city dining and hiking trails. Warm welcomes and a toasty wood fireplace in the lobby made it a perfect choice.
Microwave & minifridge in room. It’s in good proximity to Hurricane Ridge hikes - but then, all Port Angeles hotels are. Safeway, Taco Time, Wendy’s are nearby plus more moderate restaurants (the Safeway deli case has the best grab-and go sandwiches though).
Nice and clean and with great proximity to the ferry terminal entrance. We liked it so much, stayed here twice! When we come to Port Angeles, we will stay here. The owners are working to make it better so it will be even better when we return!
I felt like the place was very clean, even though it is an older hotel. We had other friends also traveling to Port Angeles, they were disappointed with their hotels, where I followed reviews and hoped this hotel would be just right.
Wonderful woodland setting with just a short drive to waterfront/beaches. We went for Sprint Boat Races and the house was very close to the Extreme Sports Park. It was also a quick trip into Port Angeles proper for any shopping.
It is a lovely house, well maintained and with all the amenities you would need, we were a group of 4 and found it extremely comfortable. Will surely book again if we're ever back in port Angeles. Thank you
It was easy to get around Port Angeles from there. Close enough to the ferry. The room was very clean and the bed adequate. The fridge actually had a freezer! The shower was fine, as were the towels.
Room was very clean and the bathroom was quite nice. I could walk over to a gas station in the morning and grab a breakfast sandwich. It was only a short drive to quality restaurants.
Port Angeles was a two day base of operations to see Olympic National Park and Victoria, BC. It was located close to restaurants and the usual facilities you want on a trip.
