I stayed in Dillard for 5 days over Thanksgiving.

I stayed in Dillard for 5 days over Thanksgiving. The Dillard House Restaurant, which is famous for its food, was too expensive for me. Also, it was a pain for me seeking a reservation which was mandatory by the restaurant. I found another restaurant. Cupboard Cafe. Now this is the place to eat. On Thanksgiving it was first come first serve. I can't stand in a line, so I got me a carry out on Thanksgiving eve. They already had their food prepared and ready for Thanksgiving Day. I had a fridge and microwave in my room. Boy did they pile it on. The Styrofoam plate was bulging. Turkey-dressing-cranberry sauce-cream corn-fried okra-pecan pie. I had me a good meal on Thanksgiving Day.

It was a nice stay. Our cabin we rented had all the basics. It was located between the Highlands and the town of Dillard in Sky high valley. People were friendly and goods were reasonably priced. The local food was great and priced good. Piggy wiggly was great and everything in Dillard was easy to find.7

    Very nice place.

Very nice place. Not a lot of restaurants but close to Clayton, GA and Franklin, TN. We enjoyed visiting both Clayton (enjoyed breakfast at The Mountain Grill. Amy and Emma were great; had very good Italian food at Mama G's!!). Great lunch at LA Cubana and dinner at Fat Buddies BBQ in North Carolina on the way to Smokies and on to Gatlinburg! Beware of heavy traffic there! Sat for quite awhile in very slow moving traffic!⁸

We stayed at the Serenity cabin which was serviceable but not the most comfortable. The bathroom shower curtain was disgusting - mildewy at the bottom, and the shower was way too small even for a 5'4", 122 lb person. I don't recommend it for anything romantic, which I was hoping for. The instruction sheet in the cabin says to text a phone number if we needed anything. So I texted and asked if we could request the fire pit on the patio to get going so we may sit and enjoy the view that evening with a glass of wine. The response I got was to go to the restaurant and ask one of the servers to do it. If I were them, I would have delegated the task myself as opposed to asking a paying customer to chase after another staff person. Also, none of the two wifi networks worked at the cabin.

Being in the in-between of summer and fall, there were only a couple of shops open and no places to eat any meal. We had to drive north of the town or south of the town to eat. There were no favorite spots because everything was closed. We will visit there again, but not stay there in this motel. There are much nicer places the the towns north and south of here.

Love this area. I make several trips a year.

Love this area. I make several trips a year. We had dinner at Julep Farm and it was great, a beautiful and relaxed dinner! The Highlands and Clayton are short drives with beautiful views. My favorite spots in this area are Osage market for the wonderful Frits and veggies, Foxfire Museum, and Blackrock State park.

Loved being able to check in at the house with electronic tonic door key. Note to Evolve and owners - batteries died during this service and and it took quite a while for us to troubleshoot and replace them. Setting was beautiful. Loved having the separate downstairs unit for our adult son and girlfriend. Kitchen was well appointed

Great house, large and great wood floors, plenty of room. Nice lighting and decorating. Fireplace was easy to use, our dog loved it, kitchen very nice gas cooktop on island. We brought our Keurig and wine. Queen bed was upstairs so we used the 2 double rooms downstairs. Linens were all wonderful and ceiling fans over beds.

The cabin location was fantastic. The cabin was warm and comfortable with lots of sleeping space and everything that we needed. We were right near everything that we wanted to go to and not far from great restaurants and shopping as well.

Friendly staff. Many food locations nearby. Met our needs for a dry room (it was raining) for launching into the Smokies to camp. Despite being on a main road, motel units are away from the road so noise was minumal.
