nothing to do, not many restaurants except fast food. no where to shop but Walmart.. Tried a restaurant called Tumbleweed and a Fatsz it was ok. hotels are expensive for that area because you have to drive a long way to see anything so you might as well stay in that area.

Small country town but has a little bit of everything and...
Small country town but has a little bit of everything and very close to Blowing Rock, Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Table Rock and surrounding areas. You can go in just about any direction and within an hour or so arrive at a park, river/creek/gorge, fishing, hiking, Blue Ridge Parkway, and not much farther to Asheville or Charlotte.

They are always Grade A in cleanliness and sanitary every visit. But I love the professional and hospitality attitudes of the employees. And I have to say that the owners of the establishment have absolutely exceeded any and all of the others in and around the surrounding areas throughout the times I have stayed in the hotels for periods at a time since before the pandemic started.Pam ArnettUnited States of America

Although this was a working trip, I felt like I was on vacation and wish I could have spent more time there. Be sure to step outside at night! The stars are amazing and the trickling creek adds to the ambiance - peaceful! Really appreciate the host, Mike. He sincerely wanted to make my stay the best it could be - he succeeded.

But well worth the stay! It’s a very easy drive to Blowing rock, and Wilson’s Creek. Just a little something have to say thank you for having a makeup mirror! I realize when traveling how I miss that- rarely offered in rentals!

Waking up in the morning to that view, to the peace and quiet at night was amazing. House is beautiful, not far from the amenities of Lenoir either. Will stay here again.
