I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.

we participated in the Olympic venues passport choice and had a wonderful time exploring and partaking at each venue.
the food at every restaurant was great, we liked the creperie and black bear restaurants. driving around was easy. We did mini golf, the visitors cruise on lake placid, had a manicure, made a bead bracelet, and browsed the shops. We also went to High falls gorge.
the scenery in the area cannot be beat, the trees, mountains, and lakes are awe inspiring. i think that was my favorite part.

Rooms very new but sterile..
Rooms very new but sterile.. No pictures on walls.Shower floor VERY SLIPPERY! Great location but parking very poor… When I complained about no parking spots available the front lady said” first come first served “.. no guarantee.REALLY? ! Not what web site says.
This is a very nice, modern, comfortable hotel in a great location near the town's main street. The beds were great, the showers were large, and the common areas were clean and full of windows. We walked into town for bagels and coffee each day, and enjoyed sitting in the lounge areas to watch the sunrise over the lake. The hotel was undergoing some kind of renovation so it wasn't quite complete, but the staff were friendly and helpful!
Great value.
Helpful and friendly staff
Location is very convenient to Main Street (without the jump in cost!)
Parking is easy -- not true of many hotels in Lake Placid
Mini-fridge and (working) microwave -- again, not available in all hotels in LP
Firepit, bar-b-cue and picnic tables available for guests -- again, not available at all hotels in LP
I will book at the Maple Leaf Inn for Rugby weekend next year
The woman who checked us in was very nice! She knew it was our honeymoon so she worked hard to get us a room with an absolutely amazing view. The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. It’s great to be right in town to go out for meals. The Deck served up an awesome mule and has a really pretty view! We used to hot tub and the free water crafts before. This is our favorite hotel in Lake Placid!
The hotel setting is very rustic looking. Nice ambience music is very calming as you come into the building hallway.
Coffee and Tea is available
Lots of lounging space where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Loved the shampoo, body wash, lotion collection as the smell feels like you just came out from the spa.
Hotel staff at Bluebird were all welcoming and friendly.
The price was a lot lower than surrounding hotels. I liked that it was a short driving distance to the Olympic center. Rooms were outdated but clean. There was a mini fridge in the room. The pool and hot tub seemed nice and open until I0pm, I did not go in them but my son and friends did.
Location was great and staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and down comforters were a cozy addition in an Adirondack/ski town hotel. There was plenty of parking and it was a quick walk to the Olympic center and the heart of town.
The setting on Lake Placid was wonderful with Lakeview from lodge style dining room. Room was comfortable, and loved our little balcony viewing the back meadow and distant mtns. Very clean. Dinner was wonderful: shrimp pasta; Avocado, Strawberry salad w/chix. Umm
Lovely large rooms, with excellent heating in the winter and perfect amenities such as coffee maker and microwave. The location is ideal for anyone visiting Lake Placid. Parking right outside and shops/restaurants in walking distance.
We chose the hotel on line after a previously arranged get away did not work out.
We were very pleased with everything! We only wished we had brought our bathing suits with us to take advantager of the hot tup and pool.
Very clean and spacious. Management team were quick to respond to a small issue we had and fixed it without any problems. Great location, just a short walk from Lake Placid Main Street. Will definitely stay here again.
Staff were very efficient, the room is as described, the hotel is close to the main street and different parks and attractions, breakfast is basic and it's nice there's something included but it can be improved.
Very simple room. Nice location with beautiful view. Close to Lake Placid. Fine for 1 night. Looking at the pictures I think the cottages are quite a bit nicer.
