The staff is excellent. Room was charming and comfortable.
The staff is excellent. Room was charming and comfortable. Well, maintained. The breakfast is one of the best we've ever had. They had tamales! The salsa was fresh and tasty. Cookies chips and salsa in the afternoon in the lobby. On site laundry. Taos is easy to get around and they have an excellent public library.

Taos is currently working on their Plaza.
Taos is currently working on their Plaza. I’m looking forward to that project being completed. Around the Plaza the Gorge and the Alley Cantina are both great places to eat and drink. The trip to Rancho de Taos is mandatory. Not only for the beautiful church but for the restaurant in the plaza behind the church. The Ranchos Plaza Grill is fantastic!! Their hours are kinda weird so check before going.

I like Taos. The people are friendly and there are plenty of food options. The area is beautiful, there are views of the mountains and great sunsets. I love the architecture too. Adobe homes are so attractive and practical.

Slightly too touristy for my liking, but with some lovely walks when you drive to them; well worth to go to the Rio GRande gorge walks and also see the bridge and walk across it; Taos pueblo is always worth a visit and to do a tour there; this time we did the enchanted circle drive, very stunnng scenery.
Taos centre is ok for a coffee, but I would avoid it mainly

This was my second visit to this wonderful city, my first was 27 years ago! Last time we went rafting and horseback riding up on the ski slopes, breathtaking. This time we went Hot Air ballooning and it was spectacular and magical. I am a shopper so if you like to shop you've come to the right place. Tons of wonderful shops and galleries. Restaurants were excellent. I had done my research and booked everything in advance. Tons of great places for coffee and a lovely ice cream shop. Several things that were different from last time, Taos now has warmer nights in the summer, no need for fleece at night. Hiking boots really aren't necessary to walk around Taos Plaza. We dined outside once or twice and we were in sleeveless tops with sandals, would have been too cold to do this years ago. This is a lovely town and perfect for a weekend getaway. Oh the drive between Taos and Santa Fe is worth it, just for the breathtaking views.
Cutest idea ever. I got a little cold in the night but got up and found a heater, that morning I found the real heater (hahahaha), So funny. Wonderful porch to sit on when I woke up and drank my "french press" coffee, way better than a hotel room without the beautiful view off my personal porch. Did I mention quiet, no upstairs or outside noices, so peaceful. Plus, you can buy some wood for a fire outside. A couple trailers did this, such a great idea. I would recommend to all I know going to Taos.
I didn’t have Breakfast because I hand to start work at 8:30AM. The Room book showed Breakfast started at 8:00AM but I was told by the host it was 8:30AM. Personally I think Breakfast should start by 7:00 to 7:30AM. A lot of people hit the road earlier than 8:30. I left the property at 7:00AM and had looked up a few local breakfast restaurants that showed they were open but as I found out, that wasn’t the case upon arrival.(not the hotel’s faults). I ended up at Sonic for Breakfast.
This place is a wonderful place in Taos at a reasonable price. Rooms are spacious, beds are VERY comfortable, nice hot pool - also open in winter.
But the actual highlight is the breakfast. It almost seems like a sumptuous European breakfast with many (freshly made) warm options. And….. you get real plates and cutlery which is very rare for the US.
Another nice detail are the wide selection of tees and coffees during the day - together with good quality nachos and cookies.
I can't say enough about the quality of the service at this hotel. I arrived in Taos late in the evening, expecting an easy check-in. What I DIDN'T expect was the cup of delicious chili the staff had put aside for me, knowing there would be nowhere in town to eat at that hour and figuring I hadn't stopped along the way (they were right). I will be an El Pueblo fan for life.
Beautiful, spacious room. The dining room and lobby are full of art and the stuff is very friendly.i felt very comfortable staying here and the location is close enough to walk around Taos. The breakfast is one of the best I have had at a hotel and you can choose from around 5 different options.. the coffee is great too.
Absolutely fantastic breakfast, great and quiet location and top service. Peggy was an outstanding host, and my wife and I were pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed our stay at the Inn On La Loma. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to visit the beautiful town of Taos or skiing in the nearby Taos Valley.
I had a home in Taos for several years. When I come back for a visit I always stay at Hacienda del Sol and am Never disappointed. The rooms and bed are exceptionally comfortable and well appointed w the charm you'd expect to experience in New Mexico, The breakfast is wonderful and the location is the best.
Everything was perfectly clean, the room smells great, towels and all the bedding smells great. The property was in great shape, safe and clean. Super friendly staff and checking if everything was good during our stay.
I can wait to visit Taos and book in this hotel. You guys nailed it.
Thanks
200 yr old hotel in the middle of the Taos Plaza, beautifully appointed, excellent location, easy to find. Heather was so friendly and helpful. Room was quiet and the bed so comfortable. I was concerned about stairs, but this old building has an elevator, can't wait to return
Absolutely charming hotel. Leading the way in customer care thanks to Sheldon and Elijah. Probably the most comfortable bed I slept in during my 3 week stay in NM. With such great character it was easy to love La Fonda.
The hotel manager went above and beyond to help me with my travel plans. I really appreciate the extra effort. This was my first time staying there. I will definitely make plans to stay there the next time I am in Taos
the room was wonderful, so was the location and the property: the hotel is situated in a big lovely garden
We wish to particularly praise Mr. Jerome for his welcoming warmth, kindness and very pleasant disposition
The location was excellent for visiting all that Taos has to offer. The size and layout of the rental fit our needs perfectly. Having the facilities of a house vs. an apartment or hotel met our needs exactly.
Downstairs King room unavailable when I checked in so they upgraded me to
Downstairs King suite. Really nice. This property is special and is located with easy access to all the restaurants in Taos.
This was one of the nicest pet friendly places we stayed at during our trip! Centrally located in Taos and will definitely go back again. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. m
