It provided a decent nights stay before the Reno air races
In many respects Reno is a less outlandish version of its Nevada cousin Las Vegas. Within minutes of landing at Reno-Tahoe Airport you can be hearing the dinging of slot machines on Virginia Street where a glowing neon arch welcomes you to ‘The Biggest Little City in the World’.
Across the plaza is Harrah’s Reno, just one casino hotel available on Booking.com. Larger casinos with spas, such as Peppermill and Atlantis, are off the main strip. The largest is the Grand Sierra Resort with its own amusement park, large pool and night club. Pet-friendly motels and cheap hostels are other options.
Aside from gambling, the city hosts many events including the Reno River Festival in Wingfield Park. The Truckee River Walk connects shops, restaurants and bars popular with students at the nearby University of Nevada, the state’s oldest. The campus includes the Mackay Stadium and Fleischmann Science Center and Planetarium, set opposite the arboretum of Rancho San Rafael Park.
The Nevada Museum of Art is in Reno and neighbouring Sparks has a Heritage Museum. The 2 cities share a convention centre and livestock events centre, and there are many golf courses in their green surroundings. Even lusher are the Sierra Nevada mountains, whose peaks around Lake Tahoe offer some of the best US skiing.
3 days was perfect time. Enough to lose some money but not over what I had expected. We had a car one day that was nice but inside the city if very depressed (boarded up) but they seem to be working on it. The river walk was great, over neighborhood a bit iffy.

I was born here, I would visit Reno more often due to the immense beauty of the surrounding area, the arts, food, and things to do. I suggest going camping or visiting the wilderness (with Caution) and go see some of the history of the Silver city (biggest little city)

All I can say is Reno is now what it used to be cracked up to It used to be really the spot until COVID after COVID all downhill kind of like a ghost town downtown. A lot of the casinos are shut down nobody really is partying or having lots of fun like they used to be I've been there a lot of times before and after not really sure of a great place to eat we just eat wherever is convenient. Getting around part well Google maps will do that for you if you have a car which is normally what I have.

Our room was decent but the rest of the hotel was unsatisfactory, to say the least. There's free parking but we're handicapped so we had to pay for valet parking and pay and pay because of having to leave the hotel for different reasons. The service in the restaurants was very slow and the slots were tighter than a witches ***. I asked around to a lot of people and they said the same thing. The machines weren't paying crap. I just kept putting money into them with no payout. The signs around the casino were very poor. We could never find our way around because there was very little direction. What's with that???
We will never go there again.
The whole place is filthy, room carpets, bathrooms, in general not hygienic, it is a disgrace to windham, should do a inspection to verify my comments, the dirtiest, and filthiest hotel I have ever been, totally unsanitary. Room carpets have never been shampooed, bath tubs are all filthy, bathroom floors need cleaning, main reception, just take a look, do a inspection and see for yourself, filthy, floor boards full of dust. No one to listen to complaints, it is a disgrace for Windham to be associated to such a filthy place?
good location, close enough to the main attractions but far enough away to be restful. great freeway access. plenty of parking. Lady running the casino on Friday night tried very hard to make our visit comfortable, even following us into the parking lot to explain why doors between hotel and casino were locked even though they were the only way to get from one to the other - she should be complemented. Plenty of plugs because of a plug strip under the desk.
Breakfast was not included. The location of the hotel was within walking distance to other casinos/attractions. The attached parking was not available and under construction. I had to park in a separate parking garage across the street. A bit inconvenient but not too long of a walk. The hotel is a bit dated. It appears renovations are being made. I really liked that there were no hotel fees. I think the price is highly affordable.
Great location. Close to the river, parks, restaurants and downtown Reno. We really like the small upstairs cafe above the health food store the next block over.
We like that this is not a casino hotel.
We like the small kitchen in the unit and the new flooring they put in (instead of the old carpet), though it is a bit of a puzzle effect :-)
We have not brought our dog yet, but we probably will next time.
The rooms are spacious, and very clean. The parking lot is very large. There was enough space to park our large pickup truck with no problems. Some of the hotels downtown have small parking lots, and this makes it very hard to park large vehicles. One of our trips to Reno I had made a reservation at one of these hotels. It was impossible to park, so we left. Since then we have always stayed here.
Very good place for the price (one of the cheapest I saw when searching):
- Nice front desk people and everything clearly explained
- Room was clean and comfortable, with TV, fridge, microwave and coffee maker
- Wifi and A/C worked correctly
- Plenty of parking
- Located 5min by car from downtown Reno and 1 minute from highway
- Very good price/quality
All around very good stay
It was downtown I had to park in a ramp 2 blocks away and walk by 3-4 homeless people on the way to the hotel. One guy was laying down in front of the liquor store across the street and screaming at everyone that passed. Reno has other GOOD hotels with similar pricing.
It was a nice hotel with several different places to eat connected. You can go to several different casinos that are connected to the hotel all together. I was not long enough in Reno to enjoy more optional activities.
This was a beautiful suite. The breakfast was a real bonus. The pool/hot tub, fitness room, and basketball court were open. Quiet area just minutes from downtown. Very nice casino nearby (Atlantis).
"Old" hotel, but with a deep renovation. Rooms are clean and globally ok.
Fitness center open 24h. The breakfast (included) is broadly appropriate.
Large parking lot for free.
Close to freeway, nice spacious room and close to downtown Reno. The pool area is very nice, it’s was great having an indoor pool area because that weekend was so hot.
Great vista of snow covered mountains and downtown Reno casinos from our West-facing room. Room was clean, good-sized (two queens), attractive decor. Bus stop nearby.
The location was very convenient to different stores and the midtown/ downtown area. Room was clean and very comfortable and sizeable. Would definitely stay again
