Bansko is at the edge of the Pirin mountain range which is beautiful. There is access to winter sports in the winter, and mountain biking/hiking/mountaineering in the summer. There are hikes and trails for all levels and I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in outdoors to go there.

Bansko is a good alternative for skiing when you cannot afford to go in the Alps .
Very good options for accommodation and for eating out in local restaurants.
You need to know that the ques for gondola in the morning can get pretty long and well exceed one hour wait.

Bansko is a city that captures the heart with its stunning...
Bansko is a city that captures the heart with its stunning beauty, effortlessly blending picturesque landscapes with the quaint charm of its streets. However, visitors should be wary of the numerous tourist traps that dot the city, often overshadowing its genuine offerings. Despite this, with a bit of diligence and local insight, one can uncover hidden gems like the small family-run 'mexana' we were fortunate to find. Serving homemade food with warmth and authenticity, it stood out as a beacon of traditional hospitality amidst a sea of commercialized eateries.
On the flip side, the popularity of Bansko's ski slopes comes with its own set of challenges, notably the excessive queues for the gondola lift, which can significantly dampen the skiing experience. Opting for a bus ride to the slopes proved to be a wise decision, bypassing the long wait and leading us directly to the well-maintained pistes. While Bansko offers much in terms of scenic beauty and skiing opportunities, visitors must navigate its less appealing aspects to fully enjoy what this charming city has to offer.

We didn`t know Bansko was so popular with the British 19/ 30 groups so when we arrived (09.00 o`clock in the eving we were shocked by noise and amount of drunken people in the streets and bars. I is like Benidorm in Spain. Bansko is to big for her wintersport facilities so the skilifts were totally overrrun and the lower pistes were way to busy. Up 3 hours waiting time on some days on the gondola. Prices for ski passes, equipment rental etc are really ok . Altough the pistes are nice they were way to busy. Food in restaurants and drinks are way overpriced.
We enjoy the breakfast, it was delicious.
In the dinner it was good too but for muslims it is not allowed to eat pork meat, so mostly meat was from pork there. So I recommended to serve different meat in the dinner.
The city it wasn't far, so we don't have to take taxi to visit city.
Hotel was clear and it was so good that a van transport us to ski resort, and he came back to take us.
The hospitality was great from staff of hotel.
And the staff did a good service for us, they allowed to have late check out just for 10 euros.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Red House Family Hotel.
It was our family ski trip with my dad and we stayed here for first time and eventhough it was our first time we felt like home !
From the ambiance to the great attitude by the stuff/owner I will be happy to leave a 10 star review !
Once we arrived the host helped us with our luggage and carried our suitcases upstairs and throughout outer whole stay our room was always sparkling clean. We will be happy to come back again ! 🙏🙂
At the time of writing this review they offered a 24hr. check in check out service. Very helpful for late arrivals.
Kitchen was relatively well equipped.
Location of Hotel is a little far from the Gondola/Ski lift if your planning to walk it. I'd say around 8 minute walk. For those of you who enjoy being a little bit far away from all the action in order to relax this is a great location for you. But if you want to be in the center of things it's a little far away.
Our rooms were big, clean, spacious. Enough hot room for all the people in the hotel. It was really, really hot in the rooms as the heating system was working on maximum. We had good time there. It is a bit far from the centre - 7-8 minutes by walk and the same distance to the Gondola but this was not an issue for us. Communication with the host was great and he answered all the questions we had.
One of the best value for money deals you could get in Bansko area.
Best hotel! excellent room and facilities, delicious breakfast.
Location is just amazing -you get out of the hotel and in about 150 meters you are in ski road 1 going down to the gondola. Or if you have a car, just take left and you are on the way to the top station.
The room wad amazing, big, cozy, clean, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room.. Just wow.
The staff was very helpfull and nice.
We enjoyed every minute in the hotel. Recommend it very much!!
Started off with small miss understanding but staff were very fast dealing with the situation. Clean apartments, good spa, nice kitchen and restaurant staff. Outstanding performance from reception spa, sorry I can’t mention all the girls names only remembered Klavdia. Which helped in the morning after arriving late.
Keep the good work. Best regards to all the staff, place worth visiting. 4 star hotel with 5 star service. Will be back for sure
The staff were really nice and helpful. The food from the menu was great, we tried the chicken soup, mushroom soup and trout and felt it was the best dinner we ate at Bansko, and all for a great price.
We especially want to point out Onur in the bar for his service and hospitality.
In addition the room we had was very large which gave us a lot of space, something you usually dont get in ski vacations.
The hotel's enchanted atmosphere, tucked away in the Bulgarian foothills, was something I adored. With its rustic charm and stunning views of the mountains, the large maisonette room created a romantic ambiance that made our trip even more unforgettable. Our one-night escape was made great by exploring the charming town, enjoying delicious room service, and making priceless memories with each other.
Amazing hotel, everything is well organized and the room was very big and comfortable, the hotel is very clean and we enjoyed to relax in the pool/jacuzzi after a long day of skiing.
The stuff was very kind and helped us with every request.
We had a great room with mountains view, large storage space, organized kitchen and very comfortable king size bed.
The location is great, across the street from Kempinski hotel and about 1 minute walk to the Gondola. The rooms are spacious and the kitchenette is well equipped for a family with kids.
Even though the property does not have their own parking, there is a decent paid parking within a 1 minute walk off the property.
Very tasty and diverse buffet breakfast.
The spa was satisfying overall , although I personally would have liked a little higher water temperature.
Buses from and to the ski resort, minimizing the impact of the remote location of the hotel.
Room was pretty and comfortable, supplied with coffee and tea everyday.
Great facilities and location and we got a free upgrade which was lovely. It pretty much had everything, from ski rental to spas to restuarant and bar which made the hotel very convenient. Loved the cosy atmosphere with the fireplace in the lobby area.
Food overall was great
Great views from hotel
Ability to join ski road just outside hotel was a bonus
Ski shop next to hotel had long opening hours and Niko was so helpful
Sauna, steam room and pool were ideal to relax after a day skiing
Location is nearby Gondola [2 min driving]
THE COMPLEX, IT'S AWSOME!
Food 5 Stars. Half -Board the best choice, morning before go to ski, and dinner after the ski.
Hospitality 5 Stars.
Spa 5 Stars
Cleaning 5 Stars
Price 5 Stars
Very Close to the ski road/gondola (absolutely brilliant so you won't have to go with car or anything, you just go across the main road near the hotel and put your skis/board and on to the gondola ), Spa, Room, Pool, Parking.
Location is perfect, on the quiet part of town but close to everything .
Spa facilities are great, the hotel is warm and cozy, breakfast is good enough and the staff is kind
Great old-school hotel for a ski trip 👌
Decent hotel . Thought the breakfast was limited for a 4 star hotel but OK. Little out of the way for the gondola and limited ski transfers but overall reasonable vfm
