Bohinj has stunning views of the surrounding mountains which are easily accessible via the gondola. The lake itself is crystal clear and great for swimming and water sports. The town is small but with a range of restaurants and a shop. It has all the facilities you need but without the throng of tourists that Lake Bled is constantly surrounded by.

Lake Bled is lovely but Lake Bohinj is perfect if you want a purer experience. The hike around the lake is about 12.5 km. There are lots of outdoor sports available and gorgeous views. We went up the cable car to Mount Vogel and hiked up to the waterfall at Savica. It is all truly gorgeous and peaceful.LARGE - 10Scored 10

You should take a trip to the waterfall Savica; take a 2 hour walk around the lake; the landscape itself is wonderful. You can taste delicious homemade food like different kinds of cottage cheese, and typical Slovene casserole dishes. The best way to get around lake is to go on foot or to rent a bike.

The nature is beautiful, it doesn't mind if it's raining, snowy or sunny, you always can enjoy peaceful walk along the lake or through the forest. Everyone should visit Bohinj at least once in their lifetime!

Also they have alot of really great bikes plus paddleboards and kayaks (I believe)--so it's really set up for the outdoor adventurer. Also the breakfast was quite good and food was available throughout the day which was super convenient as i.t wasn't particularly close to any grocery stores and restaurant choice was limited in Lake Bohinj.
