We stayed in Courtenay to try to go skiing, but unfortunately, this winter has almost no snow, but that's ok, it was our first time in town and it was nice, we had great food at Local and The Hen and Hog Cafe, I definitely recommend those two places.

With a stroll through the river area I again appreciated all the hard work of citizens determined to prevent flooding and also warning about personal safety near the water and on the bridge. The variety of shops is interesting. This trip we walked the river trail to the viewpoint to appreciate the Courtenay River joining the ocean. There are plenty of coffee shops, a brewery and bakery and great ethnic preferences for dinner dining. I always enjoy our visits.

The area is billed Courtney/ Comox and it was the comox area that was most inviting. Scenery, restaurants etc.
Locals Restaurant was probably one of the best restaurants and value we’ve been to in a long time.

Lovely town, incredibly clean and tidy with loads of outdoor activities in the area. We both said we would love to live here. The front desk staff were really helpful and made us feel at home. Thanks guys !
The Garden House is a beautiful place to stay. It's very roomy, comfortable and has a beautiful garden view and access to outside enjoyment. The kitchen has everything one needs but no dishwasher, which is not a problem for us. It also has a washer and dryer. This is a gem in Courtenay. We hope to return one day. We stayed only one night due to our schedule, but will consider a longer stay next time.
It was very clean and well equipped. We had a balcony overlooking the garden. We had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. It was very roomy and could sleep 4 with the pullout couch.
Local's restaurant was right beside the hotel and their food is very good. The river runs beside the hotel and we had a lovely walk along the bank.
They also have a nice spa.
We would certainly stay again.
The breakfast was good and the servers were friendly and fast. I like how the breakfast was served with a menu to choose from. The first staff that I met probably one of the cleaning ladies was nice and helpful as I was confused where the reception of the hotel was as the sign is quite confusing. Thought of it as the entrance or reception of the pub.
Friendly staff person Val greeted us as soon as we arrived. She gave us all the information we needed and escorted me to the room. Hotel is noticeably older but we were told they were renovating and it was a lot to do. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. The bed was great!
My sister and I were lucky enough to find Garden House unbooked for the entire week we were in Courtenay on family business. It was the perfect “home away from home.” I would have taken the bed home if I could have managed it!😜 Great hosts. Email them if you need anything. They are quick to respond.
Updated, clean and great place to stay in Central Courtenay. Bed is firm, but comfy.
Like many older motels, the sound of noisy guests was an issue. I’m’m sure mgmt was prepared to address it if I’d brought it to their attention.
our whole trip was amazing. I didnt have high expectations as a 2 star but this hotel blew me AWAY! rooms and hotel were extremely clean, breakfast was a hot buffet and not just a continental, staff were very friendly.
Very average hotel, it has everything needed for a good stay. Breakfast is ok, beds are good, not excellent but still ok. I liked very large bathroom and working a/c in the room, also our room had a couch as a bonus.
Beautiful, comfortable, pet friendly hotel. The coffee, apples and cookies in the lobby were a lovely touch! Close to everything you need but tucked away on quiet grounds with lots of bunnies hopping around :)
The breakfast was excellent, consisting of yogurt, juice, eggs, tomatoe, toast and banana slices. The property is centrally located for both Comox and Courtenay, and has beautiful views of the estuary.
Beautifully furnished, very clean, super comfortable, nice location to everything in Courtenay and Comox. Fully furnished, just bring your bags. The Keurig coffee, cream and snacks really nice touch.
Great location surrounded by shops, restaurants, scenic walk trail. The most friendly staffs we’ve ever met. They truly make the visit standing out from other ordinary hotel stays.
I liked how helpful and friendly the staff were and its in a good location around the center of Courtenay. As it is, it was good for a 1 night stay for business.
