If you are driving to this town from Calgary then avoid highway 1. So much construction is going on and will slow you down. If you have taken highway 1 then after taking the ferry from revelstoke, avoid turning left after ferry ride and keep going straight. Google map takes you from trout lake but its muddy, narrow and gravel. Avoid that route.
You wouldnt fund any rude human in this town. Very polite and caring people. Worth driving 8 hours for this town.

Great restaurants, Kaslo Hotel and Treehouse Restaurant both great food and reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful people.
Easy to get around Kaslo in your own vehicle, however a Taxi or Uber service is definitely needed.
Our destination trip was for the British Invasion and the Garlic Festival, feel they could be Saturday and Sunday. If the British Invasion had been on a Saturday it could have combined with British foods and gift items in the market.

Kaslo is such a cute town with stunning views of Kootenay Lake. The town is small, but has everything you need and it's a great home base to see many of the surrounding sites. We visited Fletcher Falls as well as Fletcher Fries across the street for lunch, Ainsworth Hot Springs, the old silver mining town of Sandon plus a wonderful lunch at Sundarella in New Denver. Then zip lining at Kokanee Zip Lines near Nelson. None of these disappointed. We highly recommend them all!
It hotel is right downtown. It has a good restaurant were you can eat inside or outside and you have a good view of the lake. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The bed is really comfortable.
We had a balcony facing the street with all the charming old town buildings.
You could tell the hotel is very well cared for. Maintenance in the room was impeccable as there was no paint chips on the walls or broken tiles in the bathroom. Also the room was very quiet including the heating system.
Philipine was a friendly, attentive host. Nothing was too much trouble. The rustic cabin was very clean and suited us perfectly. Great location for Kaslo, 15 minutes walk by the lakeshore
Very peaceful and relaxing. The cabins are very quaint and ours was spotlessly clean. Close to Kaslo and some exceptional restaurants. Philippine was an amazing hostess.
Great views! loved the orchards and the walk around the property. Friendly greeting when we arrived. Kaslo had great trails and food along with some neat shops.
