Emerald Lake Lodge was a fabulous stay but even if you don't get to experience a roaring fire in your lake side room, the hiking trails even around the lake are beautiful!! The Natural Bridge over Kicking Horse pass is on the same road, and is a Must See! The Town of Field is a quaint little village that is great for photos of train tracks and often Elk.
Takkaka Falls are also just before the Village of Field exit. Although the road to the parking lot is closed until spring and its like a 16 km trek in! So go in the summer for sure to get right up to the falls! They are stunning!

We liked the room but the stairs up to our unit were extremely steep when carrying luggage. Our balcony overlooking Emerald Lake was lovely but smoky while we were there. We took our own fan which was good advice from my sister. It was very hot at that time. Once the tourists left the lake around 5 pm it became very peaceful. Enjoyed walking around the resort in the evening. It was too hot to use the wood burning fireplace. Would love to come back to stay in some of the other cabins.

We stayed at the Emerald Lake Lodge outside of Field.
We stayed at the Emerald Lake Lodge outside of Field. Notwithstanding this, the village itself is quite interesting. To stay in the village overnight you have to be impervious to train noise. The mountains surrounding Field and the attractions close by are outstanding. It's beauty surpasses Lake Louise, in my opinion.

We had a really great time here .
We had a really great time here .If anyone is looking for a little winter wonderland this is the place. Beautiful place to stay right on the lake. My husband and I went snow shoeing which was a really beautiful trail. Had an amazing dinner and bottle of wine curled up by the fire in the main lodge, service is great. Would highly recommend checking this place out with your partner. Very romantic.

Field is a beautiful quaint town with endless activities in the area. Back country skiing and ice climbing everywhere! Eat dinner at Truffle Pigs and breakfast or a lunch at the Sliding Door Cafe. The area is incredible.

Cheaper accomodations, beautiful scenery, great information...
Cheaper accomodations, beautiful scenery, great information center, and nearness to local attractions such as Kicking Horse Mountain and Takakka Falls. I understand that there is a 2 hr walk from Takakka falls that takes in 5 other waterfalls, several as appealing as Takakka Falls that I wish I had known about sooner.
I can’t even begin to explain how amazing and beautiful this hotel is! The room is amazing, it has a nice fireplace to enjoy a cozy night in, and a WONDERFUL view! The restaurants are also great, with a delicious variety of food and cocktails! Gerardo from the main dinning room and the girl that drives the shuttle bus whose name I sadly don’t remember were particularly friendly and helpful! 10000% recommend!!!
Very comfortable and clean place set in the mountains that had everything we needed. It had a small kitchen that was very functional, a large bathroom with laundry and a bed with a sitting area and TV. It was a basement apartment with its own entrance and was very private. Field is a great spot to explore Yoho Park and all the trails. Charlie was very accommodating and helpful.
The place is clean and tidy.
This is a small town called Field.
Staying here is very peaceful.
Very nearby Emerald lake and Takakkaw falls.
20 mins drive from Lake Louise and Moraine lake.
Recommend to stay here but make sure you buy all necessary food and drinks before arriving here. It’s really small town. If you are looking for a quiet place and stay this is the one.
Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Keen to make everything work as best they could. Responsive when asked for help. Location from an "access to beautiful things" point of view was amazing. Nearby hikes were wonderful. Also, the lodge provides you access to the canoes at their sister property Moraine Lake, and this was a wonderful experience.
The Canadian Rockies Inn is such a wonderful place to stay. Our room was enormous, with a gigantic bathroom. I loved the gas fireplace. There was also a small kitchen area with an induction burner that helped us make an excellent breakfast. The bed was SOOOO comfortable. Luc is a great host. I hope we can come back there soon.
Lovely hotel. Bed was incredibly comfortable and room was so cozy! Gas fire so nice. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was not as good. It was great to be so close to main sites in yoho park. We got a complimentary canoe rental at lake moraine which was a surprise and was great!
We loved the location and surroundings in Field, BC. Wonderful little village with an excellent restaurant down the street. Luc was an exceptional, responsive host who made our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. We loved meeting and getting to know him.
Great location, accommodation, meals and service. Our cabin was right on the water and near the main lodge. Dinner was great. The included breakfast was average and could use some improvement. Great location as a base for hiking and fishing.
The premises are beautiful and were designed in such a way that you always have a view of the lake from just about anywhere. The experience is what you are paying for because the hotel itself is very average especially for a 4-star hotel.
Beautful lodge and should have taken advantage of the hiking trails nearby (wasn’t aware of them prior to arriving) - more information on the website on this would be good.
we loved the fire place by the river and made great use of this.
The location is incredible. It's right on the world renowned Emerald Lake. To be able to see the lake while staring out the window, or to walk around the property with the lake surrounding me was a feeling I will always cherish.
Luc was amazing, he provided us with extra cooking utensils and electric plate to cook, also guided about best attractions nearby and must visits, would recommend this place, nice homely feeling. Place was clean and well managed.
Quaint village and nice facility snuggled into the mountains. Great restaurant a 2 minute walk. Nice bedrooms. With a look around the kitchen you can find most things you would need in a kitchen. Luke was helpful and welcoming.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel and our room was very cozy. The location near the mountains was amazing! We really enjoy our stay in the hotel. Definitely will be back
The hotel located in the middle of banff national park, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the staff are very welcoming and helpful, and the restaurant is a top notch
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous lake and mountain setting!!! Food was excellent. Loved waking around the lake and canoeing. Rustic and not for the fancy minded.
