Location: it is the only good thing about the hotel and our experience, as it is a close proximity to the resort.

The continental was plentiful but the cooked breakfast was a bit on the small side. That said, the staff were wonderful, very attentive, and very friendly towards us and the children.

Cannot fault the scenery but you must be a keen hiker or golfer to spend time here. You are miles from anywhere and only one main road, the A93, which is awful. Days out mean a challenging drive on roads with steep climbs, sharp bends and constant gear changes. This can be tiring and a little frightening at night. Three nights was one too many here.

Beautiful peaceful setting, some lovely period features and very friendly staff, but needs a bit of work done on it. We had moveable heaters in our room, but still little chilly. Bathrooms could be doing with upgrade.

A great area for walkers or hikers & bird watchers & if you like peace & quiet.
The Wifi was not great where stayed. In these modern times most people need Wifi to keep in touch with family & friends.
Ballater is a nice place to visit & some good walks & well sign posted.
Nice cafes & shops there too. You need a car together there. Dunked is also a pretty place e to visit.

Go when the snow is there.
Go when the snow is there. We managed to get over the summit in fairly heavy now without 4WD but it was a bit dicy. If it is snowing and windy also the drfiting can cause a whiteout at a moments notice.
Glenshee is a worthwhile stopover while jouneying to/from the north.

The Cairngorms are unique and Glenshee is a good attempt at utilising the moderate ski potential. In alpine weather it would be a Davos but climate change denies this.
The increasing emphasis on walking, Biking, motorbiking , painting photography with the good access by road mean that there is enormous potential for people to enjoy these iconic hills BUT there has to be a wet weather program - small well organised local museums with really good history eg Braemar castle . Pitlochry lets the side down ( fish ladder closed due to health and safety -what is that code for. There should be a guy showing films of leaping salmon- and getting kids to see live salmon parr - it must have a massive history . Local craft shops ok but if you want to develop tourism there has to be more.
Fantastic facilities, charming house, beautiful surroundings and very helpful and friendly hosts making you feel at home.
The house is charming, has two lounge areas with real fireplaces, well equipped kitchen, big dinning area and an outdoor area. Place was nice and warm despite freezing temperatures outside.
The area is perfect for hikes and only a few minutes from the Glenshee ski centre.
Tim and Helen are wonderful hosts with plenty of knowledge and tips about things to do in the area.
This place confounds an easy description. The kind woman that greeted us was wonderful. The apartment on the top floor was really lovely, with great views and lots of space to relax (assuming you aren't over 6' tall). The grounds around the hotel are absolutely stunning, and the available walks through the countryside (at all levels of difficulty) are an added bonus. A truly wonderful spot.
The location was absolutely breathtaking. The castle hotel was beautiful as well with the old world feel. The staff was the best and took wonderful care of us making us feel at home. The dining options were sumptuous - definitely 5 star. Lots of fascinating history regarding the property too. The most relaxing vacation we've ever enjoyed. We look forward to returning on the near future.
The hotel is a splendid Scottish castle hotel in a fabulous location. There are several fantastic walks direct from the hotel and there is an on-site golf course. The food was really good and the staff were very friendly and professional. The room rate for the hotel was very competitive.
Amazing property at the Scottish highland. The shared bathroom is very clean and the rooms are spacious. The location is ideal if you’re planning to ski in Glenshee. You can rent the ski gear from the lodge owner too with a cheaper price compared to the ski center. Highly recommended
Location superb. Food excellent. Service excellent., all staff were efficient, helpful and friendly.
Hotel was very dog friendly, and as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, they set up a table for us in an adjoining room. We felt spoiled.
The location is impressive. Dalmunzie Castle is a traditional castle hotel in a remote glen in the Highlands of Scotland where the hotel is surrounded by mountains and trees, and it’s own 9 hole golf course.
This hotel is located way off the road in a remote area, no road noise or city life to spoil the experience. Dinner and breakfast were included in the cost and were outstanding. Staff was very attentive
really good value for money, warm showers, basic but comfy rooms, very well equipped kitchen and close to glenshee skiing. Host was friendly and readily available, had an overall good stay
Excellent location near to the mountains and Glenshee ski centre in particular. On site 9 hole golf course for warmer months. Large well equipped and clean bedrooms
Location was very nice, quiet and relaxing. Hotel staff were nice, friendly and trying their hardest. Bed was comfortable and the food was well made & delicious.
