No breakfast available just cafe where you can buy sandwiches and coffee and take to your table. Would have been nice proper served breakfast. However the quality of food in cafe and the bakery were excellent as was the coffee. And friendly wonderful staff.

The downhill skiing is great for a party of mixed ability - you were never too far apart to meet up again. Nice variety of runs in Geiloheisen side. Less variety of runs in Geilolia but every run a great one. Being able to also set off on lots of varied XC ski trails is also a good selling point. There are a couple of good sized supermarkets in the town.

Geilo was a great location for the particular activities we planned. There are shops in the event you left an important piece of equipment or clothing at home. Other than that, there is one public laundry facility located at a camp site....LONG LINES OF CLOTHES .....would take 5 hours to eventually wash your own clothes.

Large, well equipped comfy 3 bedroom cabin in the woods a short walk from the ski lifts in Vestlia. Very quiet and peaceful location but only a few minutes drive from the town centre. Well signposted, easy to find and super easy to check-in picking the keys up from a lock box via a link sent to your phone. Vestlia ski resort is a hidden gem, perfect for intermediates and beginners, lovely pistes and no lift queues. Loved our stay there and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in this beautiful country.

Off-season Geilo is like a ghost town.
Off-season Geilo is like a ghost town. I visited in early September - summer is over, winter has not come yet. It's a plus when you're on hike, no crowds, no noise, no waiting for toilet in monuntain lodges. But it's nearly spooky when you're out dining. September in Geilo is for those who enjoy outdoors and shorter or longer hikes but at the same time don't fancy carrying a huge backpack from cabin to cabin. From Geilo you can go some loop tours, different difficulty levels and still enjoy hot shower, hotel bed and good breakfast.

The people were very friendly and helpful, starting with the owner of the accommodation, the ski patrol, the staff of the medical centre and the bus drivers. Geilo is a wonderful place for skiing, with a wide variety of slopes and opportunities. We've been there twice and enjoyed it both times. Given that high winds meant that parts of the ski resorts needed to be closed, it would have been helpful if information about which lifts were open was easily available. For example, one of the lifts at Slaatta has a board with the lifts that are open, which is very helpful. If such information were more widely shared, hat would be great.
It was an enjoyable stay at Geilo.
Perfect location - short walk to the village center, (free) ski bus stop in front of the hotel, so it is very convenient to get to all slopes. Plus is an underground garage and enough space for parking. Ski room is also available. The rooms are spacious. Kitchen was well equipped. Big windows with a beautiful view of the slopes were really nice. Nice options for breakfast at a good price. Overall - great value for a very good price. Definitely would come back.
The hotel owners - Knut Arne and Bjerge - were so friendly and caring. We went out of season and they were so attentive to us with meals, ski hire and lifts to the town.
Knut Arne even helped our youngest family member to learn to ski and took us around the mountain on his snow mobile and to see the Moose and Deer.
It was a truly magical place to stay and very family orientated.
Alina’s place was great. We spent a lovely night in Geilo with an amazing view into Norway’s nature from the living room window. The apartment is very spacious, you have everything you need from kitchen supplies to towels and sunscreen. Alina was super friendly, taught us a little Norwegian and was there for us if we had any questions. Would totally recommend!
Hotel was amazing. The location was perfect for a winter ski vacation. The reception manager, Martin was instrumental in making my stay a true pleasure. He made sure that each request I made was granted with pleasure. His staff were trained to make me feel welcome and treated me as a valued guest. Martin is a true professional. I will return to this property.
Ski-in, Ski-out was hugely beneficial. Underground parking. Large 4-bedroom apartment with great dining room, living room, & fireplace. In-apartment dry sauna was enjoyed by us. The 3 bathrooms were helpful. Grocery stores in Geilo were excellent for bringing food back to the apartment. Hotel staff were all super helpful. Dishwasher was convenient.
We were only passing by Geilo and didn't stay in the cabin for longer than to sleep really, so we can't give a full review of the facilities. However, it fully suited our needs for a place to sleep in a comfy bed and have breakfast before hitting the road again.
The room and the hotel were clean and I liked the style. The view from the hotel position is also nice.
The restaurant is good, and they provided a great service catering for dietary requirements.
I also appreciated the position, easy to access with a car.
The cabin was comfortable and we all enjoyed our stay. It was spacious for all 8 of us and the facilities were perfect. The restaurant in the main hotel Sofias was lovely and suites all age ranges.
The view was amazing. And the apartment was enormous and comfortable. We went for a ski vacation and the bus stopped just a few minutes from the hotel so it was perfect for accessing the slopes.
Very easy access near the train station, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Simple but good breakfast included. Comfortable beds, luggage storage and room space.
We had to book the room urgently due to the extremely weather in Norway and flooded roads very friendly staff and our dogs were welcome
