Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself. Other days went out to visit, wales ape and monkey sanctuary, Henrhyd waterfalls were well worth the walk down the shale track, visited Blaenavon mining museum and visited Aberfan. Each route had ideal motorcycling road and spectacular countryside views. There are also other places to visit but did not have time to visit them all. Would recommend the area for views and for walkers, lovely spots for picnics. Absulutely fantastic

The hotel was clean neat and tidy. The people on reception were polite & courteous. The restaurant food was good. There is no service between lunch and dinner - so it means a trip out if you need a snack. I was using the hotel as a half way stop so didn’t explore the area.. sorry.

The cathedral was well worth a visit- and the cafe/lunch place was lovely with good quality food. It’s a lovely town with a lot of character and good places to eat and drink. The surrounding area is stunning. For those wanting to go up Pen y Fan and other peaks, Brecon is a perfect base. I will be going back for sure!

I Loved the Place, the area is a National Treasure.

I Loved the Place, the area is a National Treasure. I had some great shopping experiences Sorry, but I do not do churches / cathedrals or cemeteries, those days have long past, I much prefer to shop along the high street and visit a Tea Room or Charity Shop, or best of all a Market / Fete. Top tip for those eating at a Pub or two, expect mediocre Food and London Prices here, I believe it is that they feel with such a massive audience they can get away with it. Of all the places we ate, The Tea Rooms at Wye-Not-Stop Llyswen, Brecon, LD3 0UR Has to be our Favourite place to eat, and what a cracking name. Mr Spence Eng ApartmentsWales

Brecon is like many rural towns - recovering from a hard time during the pandemic. Sad to see so many local hostelries that I once knew closed down and too many cheaper shops on the high street where originality and quality was once the benchmark. Parking is too difficult and certainly too expensive. The promenade has a potential as a beauty spot but was a waterlogged untidy mess during my visit. A few more quality restaurants would also help.

Mount Street House was perfect for our stay, celebrating 20th wedding anniversary we wanted to explore Beacons but come back to lovely cosy little bit of luxury and for that it was perfect treat. Great location, 2 min from town and easy drive for any of the famous walks. Breakfast was beyond my expectations- really really good! Everything worked so well and effortlessly, WiFi, tv, great bath, breakfast order & delivery... little extras like surprise nightcap drink waiting for us resulted in great night sleep! :)

By chance we got a handicap-accessible room (#14), with lowered sinks and mirrors, giant wheel-in shower, etc. It was a large, comfortable room. The hotel needs a major renovation (old stained carpets, stained shower tiles, etc.), but it still has charm. A note in the room says a renovation is coming, but the note isn't dated, so who knows. The gardens are charming and there's a beautiful view. Breakfast was quite nice. There is a large parking lot which is always welcome.

There was a very homely feel to this property the moment we went through the door. The property is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. We especially liked the fantastic shower and the log burner in the living room. Our host had supplied milk, a lovely Barra Brith and even a bottle of wine. It proved to be a perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park and beyond. We would certainly return.

Stayed for 2 nights. Spotless and very comfortable. Very close to Brecon town centre. Room had all facilities and beautiful view necessary for a lovely stay, and was so quiet and peaceful. Very much appreciated extra bottled water on landing. Delicious breakfast with excellent hot choices and fresh fruit/juices. Lovely pleasant service at breakfast time.

There was a lovely friendly, quiet atmosphere. The hot tub was a lovely addition since our last visit, as were the additional seats in a number of locations outside. The views are beautiful and out grandsons enjoyed the little play park and the football goals. The kitchen and lounge area are gret and the bedrooms were really comfortable.

The location was great, in Brecon town centre and close to Pen Y Fan which was the reason for our trip. There’s no parking which is a pain as you can only park outside the hotel for 1 hour and then you have to move your car. There is a paying car park about a 10 minute walk away. The bed was comfy and the shower had a good pressure.

It was an absolutely idyllic location, beautiful garden and cosy but spacious Hayloft. It was the perfect place to relax after busy days exploring the Brecon Beacons. The kids loved the chickens snd sheep and exploring the garden. It was also really lovely having no tv and time to play board games snd enjoy each other’s company.

I know Brecon very well and have stayed in a couple of the other hotels in town. But I chose to stay there while I visited family. The room was clean, quiet and had a lovely bathroom. It's central to town and despite it being part of the pub's complex - it wasn't noisy, (although I stayed mid week).

Very convenient location, just 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The views from the bedroom window were wonderful. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and the quality was exceptional. The owners were very welcoming and friendly.

The hotel and the staff are very welcoming, and they are dog friendly. This is my second time staying at the Wellington and I will go back whenever I get the chance. The restaurant is good and the food is what I would expect from a Marston franchise.
