We stayed with Jay and the team for 4 days / 3 nights over Easter. From the moment we arrived they couldn’t have been more welcoming. Every one of the team were overly helpful and accommodating. Everything was clean and tidy, breakfast was divine, location was perfect and only a short 10 min walk from the village. Personal touch’s throughout such as torches for us to take out in the evenings, a help yourself honesty bar, they even made us a pack up for when we couldn’t make it to breakfast one morning as we were leaving too early that day to go up snowdon. We’re already talking about going back to wales and I really don’t think we would even bother looking elsewhere to stay as really couldn’t fault it!
Thank you so so much to the Sygun Fawr team as what a stay we had !

Extra touches made it a comfortable stay. Espresso machine was an added bonus. Best coffee in Wales.

Beddgelert was where we spent many happy family holidays, forty+ years ago, and I felt like reminiscing.
The beauty of the village and area still blew me away.
I now have mobility difficulties, so was unable to do the walking I used to, but proximity to the rivers and mountains made it easy for me to still drive and take lots of photographs.
Most necessities are available in the village stores, and anything else can be found on a quick visit to Porthmadog.
I didn't realise how reliant I had become on technology 🤦🏼♀️ so having no phone signal threw me for a while, then became a blessing. Wi-Fi is available when signed in to a local network.
Recent popularity has been gained through Beddgelert being used as a filming location in "Mr Bates vs The Post Office" , and I was lucky enough to have accommodation above Bistro Hebog, whose garden was used.
What can I say? The people are wonderfully kind and friendly; Beddgelert is better than home from home.

Lovely little village with plenty of walks on the doorstep.
Lovely little village with plenty of walks on the doorstep. You can do an extended walk all the way up to Snowdon with the option of a bus or train (when it’s running) on the way back. Small array of shops and eateries but the Bistro Hebog had some of the nicest food at a great price we had had for a while. People were friendly and it was great to have a decent outdoor store in such a little village. Worth returning to explore more of the area.

Lovely village.
Lovely village. Book dinners as everywhere gets booked up super early and closes early. Super pretty. Colywn cafe is a must stop, the food is delicious and a gorgeous little gift shop. The staff in the Prince Llewelyn pub are brilliant, friendly and accommodating, welcoming. The outdoor clothes shop has great offers and they can’t do enough to help you. Great atmosphere and super close to mount Snowdon if you fancy a climb.

Reading the 1 star reviews before arriving worried me abit, but on arrival the staff were very friendly. Entering the room it was very clean and tidy and all fresh towels ready and waiting for us.
Hotel had WiFi which had good and bad spots in our room on the third floor which the staff warned us about, it was nice having peace from the outside world if I'm honest but we could catch up when we wanted to.
We had breakfast in the hotel and a evening meal, both were lovely and high standards of ingredients.
Loved our stay and would love to go back again, would highly recommend.

A beautiful village at the base of yr Wyddfa perfect for walking and touring North Wales. There are many local walks, all beautiful and clean. Beautiful lakes and rivers surround the village. Things to do include visiting the Copper Mine or riding The Welsh Highland Railway which terminates here, so great for local trips.
Local buses, if you don't drive/want to drive.
Tourist Information office in the village, a local village shop, craft, outdoor gear and coffee shops and restaurants ... and a fabulous ice cream parlour!
And, of course, central to this are the mountains, with treks varying from relatively easy to down right difficult!
The Hotel is well situated and looks rather grand with a nice terrace for a beer or three at the front, inside it is also very pleasant and my room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
I had my evening meal at the sister Hotel (Saracens Head) as more of our party were staying there, but assuming the standards are the same in both Hotels then I can recomend the food, and the breakfast was very nice.
The staff were excellent and very helpful.
A lovely clean room with lots of white fluffy towels, nice touch leaving a Welsh cake and butter for us to nibble on, coffee pod was nice with cooled milk and water. shower was lovely, bed was comfortable, we opened the bathroom skylight and windows which created a lovely draughty as it was warm. We love Beddgelert and visit regularly although this was first time we stayed, would throughly recommend booking this room.
Bryn Cilio is a beautiful cottage, situated in the lovely little village of Beddgelert, surrounded by mountains. It is very spacious, with large living room and a big separate kitchen. The bedrooms (with a bathroom each) were great too, with really comfortable beds. The hosts were really friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. We had a wonderful time!
The caravan had everything one needed and a lot more. Ultra clean, perfectly sized for two, in a quiet spot with incredible views, a10 minute lovely backroad/path walk to Beddgelert.
The owners provided everything needed for a great breakfast as well as great suggestions for eating out.
A fantastic stay, many thanks: we're definitely coming back!
We were very happy with everything, a very comfortable stay, continental breakfast was lovely and staff were very welcoming.
The owners gave us some great food recommendations and good suggestions of places to visit.
Beddgelert itself is a beautiful location, a lovely sunset mountain view was also viable from the front of the hotel.
Exceptional house: modern facilities smoothly aligned with a historic building. Warm, comfortable: lovely details. Beautiful location: private, quiet, yet close to Beddgelert. Lots of information available about local walks, places to see. Incredible views of the mountains.
Clean. Rooms were beautiful, customer service as good as any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Next to the river. 15 minutes from pen y pass. Amazing cooker breakfast on Sunday when we awoke. Lesley the waitress was incredible as was the manager.
Great location for Beddgelert and Snowdon. Comfortable beds and the pods were warm and cosy. Having your own designated bathroom is good. The pods have a handy covered porch and clever storage solutions for your stuff under the beds.
I liked the location of the Sygun Fawr Country House. The quiet locale along with the wonderfully friendly staff as well as the proximity to the beautiful village of Beddgelert made for an amazing vacation.
Room was good, and the bathroom was a very generous size. The parking was conveniently located at the back of the hotel, with direct access to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The once grandiose hotel was ideally placed for us and full of character. The manager was very helpful, breakfast was included and the dinner menu was varied and reasonably priced.
Can’t rate it highly enough. the setting, the hotel and the hospitality shown by the staff were exceptional and I would go back there. I would also recommend it to friends.
This is an old hotel in a beautiful building with a terrific staff, like many National Park accommodations plain and practical nothing fancy but clean and good value!
