Our first trip to Wengen and although it’s a trek to get there it is easy using Swiss rail network. Fabulous mountain village and benefits from being traffic free. The skiing was great although not extensive and other areas are a challenge to get to but enough above the town for a weeks casual skiing. Those who like to travel around may find it restrictive. There is one T bar lift to get back to Wengen if you traverse to Klein Schenigg which is a pain but you can either ski down to Wengen or take the train if T bars are not your thing ( not ours!). The town has a range or bars and restaurants but is peaceful. A few shops too selling ski wear, walking gear and Swiss stuff as you would expect. Local food shops are well stocked as well. We used the COOP mainly. They also sell firewood if your place has a log burner.
We went to ski but would love to go back in warmer times to trek as it looks fabulous!

Wengen was straight out of a postcard!
Wengen was straight out of a postcard! The town was charming and the views were second to none. The vacation was wonderful for us as a couple, but is also very family friendly. There were well behaved dogs with many of the visitors as well. I cannot wait to return!

The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping.
The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping. Small village feel with accomodations ranging from rustic to luxurious. Traffic-free, except for the occassional taxi or public works vehicle. Train access to high apline environment is unparalleled! Just wish the snow was better in late January.

Stunning scenery wherever you go.
Stunning scenery wherever you go. Good mix of transport options (train, gondola, cable cars) - just need a bit of patience as only runs every 15-30 mins. Great place for sledding, walking and just enjoying the majestic mountains.

Very cute town with lots of local places to eat/drink and shop on the on-season. Since we were there during slack, there were VERY few options. Wouldn't recommend unless it's full-on winter or full-on summer!

Wengen was one of our favorite places to visit on our 3 week vacation. We loved taking the Tram up to Murren and also from Wengen to the top of the mountain. We we went in September so there was no snow yet. Lovely and memorable town.
The hotel location was breathtaking, the staff were all amazing, and the room was beautiful. We often ate at the hotel restaurant (4 course meal that changes daily) and the food was *always* fantastic. A big thank you again to the amazing people that keep the place running. Even though the hotel was full to bursting point, including a huge family of at least 10 adults and 20 young children, the staff were always smiling and helpful. I wish them all the best and am looking forward to staying again - hopefully next year :)
After a long day of travelling, it was a treat to arrive at our room at the Hotel Bellevue Wengen. We had a balcony with an incredible view of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and a welcome dish of cookies from the hotel staff. The room was very comfortable, attractive, and clean. Complimentary breakfast was served each morning and the croissants were some of the best I have ever had. My son agrees. The location was great for exploring the alps, close to great hiking, and delicious fondue restaurants. We had a wonderful time!
We liked that it was centrally located in the less touristy town Wengen. The hotel itself is small and quaint but just perfect for exploring the area (Jungfrau region). It was also extremely clean and the staff (Thomas, Maria) were unbelievably friendly, hospitable and also very meticulous. They also offered 4 course dinners at CHF 30 every night prioritising hotel guests - and the food is surely delicious with a different menu each night. Our compliments to the chef! We could see the Swiss alps from our hotel room.
This was my second stay at this wonderful hotel. The view is really exceptional and the location is easily accessible from the train station. Our room was super comfortable and the breakfast and dining was first class. I have been to Wengen in both the summer and winter and while both are beautiful in their own way the summertime is exceptional with the lush green hills and the majestic glaciers of the Jungfrau. Cannot wait to return!
Incredible hotel! Great location with an amazing view of the mountains. Just a 5 minute walk from Wengen station which is only a 15 minute train ride from Lauterbrunnen. Wengen is so lovely and a lot quieter than Lauterbrunnen. The buffet breakfast was excellent, so much choice. Downstairs had free tea and coffee all day and night, games to play and books to read. Staff were very helpful and gave us great advice about what to see.
Great location near train station in Wegnen. View was good (though the views at the top of Wengen are better). The apartment was roomy and had a washer/dryer. Nice big deck. Lots of comfortable seating in living room - plenty of space for a large family. Good value considering its Switzerland. Many toiletries, kitchen supplies provided. Stove/oven cook really well and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need.
The apartment was perfect for our family of 6. It was spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is great. The whole town of Wengen is magical. You really can't go wrong with scenery and beauty. And everything is within walking distance. After a week on the road we really enjoyed being able to buy food at the grocery store and cook meals in the apartment. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved our stay!
Location is excellent, 100m from the station. The view from the rooms and the wellness centre was amazing. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Wengen is small, and the hotel is well placed to explore the area. The wellness centre is very nice, we enjoyed spending time there after walking in the mountains. Breakfast was a very well provisioned buffet, with helpful and attentive staff.
We loved our stay at Hotel Edelweiss! I’m so glad we found this place. The property is immaculate - the gardens, room, bathroom and common areas. The views from the hotel are absolutely spectacular. The staff go out of their way to ensure you feel welcome and comfortable; they really deserve all the credit that this property is so amazing! We will be back one day :)
This family run hotel is in a superb location just above the village with the best views of anywhere in Wengen. I was greeted on arrival by Martina who was very welcoming and helped with local information and advice ALL staff were very kind and friendly. I had booked a single room but received a very comfortable big bed which was appreciated. Breakfast was great!
Excellent location, right next to the Wengen train station. Mannlichen cable car is also nearby. Decent breakfast. Simple checkin and checkout process. Amazing view from the room and balcony. There is a coop grocery store nearby. The hotel cuts corners in some basic things but overall it was still good unless you are very picky.
Fantastic view from the room and hotel
Great location in Wengen, a bit away from the town so quieter but a bit of a walk uphill, harder with heavy luggages
Great service, staff very friendly and helpful
Breakfast has good selection, best thing was the fresh sweet orange juice and the juicer where you can make your own juice
It's a very perfect place. Extremely beautiful scene in balcony. Wengen is not as busy and noise as Lauterbrunnen, The room is clean and comfort. I asked about ski information in winter, the front desk gave me quite useful suggestion. I am planning to be there next year.
Perfectly situated Hotel in the heart of Wengen. Very clean. Nice, traditional decor. We had the attic room which is very nice. Staff were friendly enough but we didn't require too much interaction. Really homely feel. Great breakfast. Would highly recommend
1 min walk to Wengen train station. Sweet personal at the hotel.
We had breakfast included which had a great selection. Definitely value for money.
Nice sized rooms with lovely view. Good bed and nice bright rooms.
Lovely staff and wonderful location. I highly recommend this place to anyone spending a night or 2 in Wengen. This family hotel is lovely and will give you a pure experience of Swiss hospitality as its best :)
Central area of Wengen.
Hotel is a DOG loving hotel. Lots of dog stuff for sale and dog photos, etc.
Own restaurant that serves traditional raclette. TRY IT!
