We used to visit regularly for skiing & in the summer when we owned a flat in Leysin. Villars is busier with better facilities generally. There was a medieval festival at Ollon that was interesting. Visiting Montreux & Vevey is around 45 minutes.
Restaurants are all expensive but the local supermarket was well stocked. The go cart descent from Roc d’Orsay and Parc Aventure are good fun for kids & adults! Booking on line for Villars Mountain Golf course is easy & the first nine holes being the best.

We were skiing for 3 days in March and so towards the end of the season when the snow on the lower slopes wasn't so good by the end of the day. The resort is good for a long weekend, but I think a week would be too long as we would be doing the same slopes over and over. The trip to the Glacier 3000 was well worth the extra ski pass cost. It's very cool.
The village has some great bars and a good selection of restaurants. We went to watch the local ice hockey team in the playoff finals which was a lot of fun and free.

Villatrs sur ollon is a hidden gem where the local Swiss people ski. The facilities and location is exception with train and gondola access to the skiing area. The village has several restaurants to cater for all types of food and price points.
I can highly recommend a day trip to the glacier 3000. It is located a 45 minute drive from Villars and well worth a visit.

It's a family ski station. There's a train that goes up to Bretaye to the main ski station meeting point and skiing and snowboarding for all ages. The view on the ride up the train is the cheery on top. All staffs speak English and very warm and accomodating.

This is a setting where the views are exceptional, the town full of charming chalets, shops as well as the Bretaye area perfect for summer or winter sports.
Our favorite spot was hiking up to the top of the Chamosaire where, on a clear day , a sliver of Lake Geneva can be seen.
Numerous good eating spots exist to match almost all tastes. Consult the helpful folks at the Villars Office of Tourism near the train station for a complete list of restaurants, great compact maps of hiking and/or ski trails and a “Guide Info” booklet covering many other activities that could be of interest.

The apartment is centrally located and very comfortable with fabulous views. It is modern, fresh and clean and well appointed. It was just my husband and I - and the space was sufficient. Would be very 'snug' for 4+. Transportation links are good. It's a short walk from the nearest bus stop and 5 minute walk from the train station. Villars is a beautiful town, immaculately maintained with a lovely selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and hotels.
We were there for an offsite and it was a very convenient hotel for big groups (has a few good meeting rooms as well). I came one night earlier and enjoyed their Asian restaurant in the evening. The breakfast is continental buffet style and was very correct. Rooms are really big with nice balconies and good views (they looked very new vs the rest of the hotel). I arrived by bus, which is walking distance from the hotel.
What I liked is that the hotel staff is very accommodating. We requested to have the two rooms that we booked be next to each other and our request was granted. We also requested to cancel the half-board meals for our second night as we opted to eat at the Peppino restaurant instead and it was also accommodated. The hotel is within walking distance to the Roc D'Orsay cable car station and to the village shops.
It is my third stay in the property and it offers an unmatched offer in switzerland with family rooms (one with twin beds and the other with bunk beds) in a nicely renovated hotel at an affordable rate. That is why we have kept coming.
The bar/restaurant is still amazing in terms of ambiance, variety, price/quality ratio.
Bedding is clean and comfortable
Nice little studio in Villars. Very clean and homey. The view outside the balcony was outstanding. Collecting the keys and finding our way inside the building was straightforward, due to the detailed directions received beforehand by mail from the hosts. The old building of Hotel Bristol was really charming. Free parking was a plus.
A wonderful hotel in the perfect location for skiing in Villars (directly across the street from the train to Bretaye). Great amenities, wonderful breakfast, and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in an apartment in the Chalet that was pure luxury! We never wanted to leave. We will stay again.
The room was nice and very clean. The breakfast was good. The cocktails at the bar are amazing. The hotel is on hill top (kind of behind the palace hotel) but very close to the center. The sauna and hammam are nice. The Italian restaurant is delicious, probably the best food we had in Villars.
Exceptional, central location close to the thermal baths, shops, restaurants and train station. The residence is a former hotel and is located behind the Rue Centrale. The appartement that we occupied had a sunny, panoramic terrace. Swimming pool on site. Sparkling clean and cosy. Thank you!
people were great. on site club was amazing. jazz one nite, comedy show the next and then a world class dj a third nite. pleasant 8 minute walk to the ski lift. and really enjoyed the personalized service at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
Hotel staff waited (happily!) for us until our arrival past midnight. Extremely helpful! Breakfast was delicious and the view is spectacular. The best location for what we were looking for too!
