Not sure if it was because of the lack of snow, but we found Murren to be quite sleepy. Very few tourists. Appeared to be lots of vacancies in town. Many shops appeared to have shut down for the season. The skiing was actually quite good at elevation throughout the Jungfrau region in spite of the lack of natural snowfall and we of course appreciate the train system to travel throughout the region. The terrain in the region is more beginner/intermediate than we anticipated, though there are some nice steeps if you know where to look. Murren seems to be the more remote place to stay so if traveling to the various resorts via train will annoy you, consider staying in Wengen or Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen.

Mürren was perfect.
Mürren was perfect. The town is quite nice and sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley. We stayed in Grindelwald prior to staying in Mürren and we so glad we made the effort to stay here. Amazing!!!

Beautiful quiet village with easy access to all other locations in the Lauterbrunnen valley. There is not as much open in Murren in the period before the full winter season gets underway. Make sure you make a note of the Murren Bahn timetable.

The valley feels like Yosemite only bigger and more accessible. The town of Murren is at the top of the valley and mountains go up another few thousand feet from there. The whole place is unbelievably scenic.
A lot of things close down in early October, like the funicular train up the mountain..

This is and amazing town has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world great hiking and alot of cool activities you can do from walking in side a glacier to zip line awesome place hotel on 2000 ft cliff in little Town on cliff take a tram to get to town wow !!!
Nice hotel in a beautiful location. Staff was friendly. Our room was comfortable. We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom. The facilities were always clean and we never had an issue with other people using the facilities the same time as us. There is one toilet for women and one for men. The shower room has 3 showers and they provide you with mats. Definitely bring shower shoes if using the shared shower. Mürren itself is beautiful and we loved staying there. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in Mürren!
Incredible location- Murren is a beautiful village in the alps to experience the true Swiss alpine living and this hotel was right in the heart of Murren, overlooking the valley and the surrounding mountains. Free breakfast was expansive and tasty. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the view. Several nice hikes within walking distance (do the north face trail, but branch off to see the waterfall!). Close to restaurants and the grocery store. Free access to an indoor pool and hot tub at the nearby sportzentrum.
Central to everything although Maureen is only a small place anyway. Sitting overlooking the valley with fabulous views. Food was excellent and staff and owners really friendly with great suggestions for trips around the area.
The seem to have some premium suites which we didn’t book but you can see the difference in the photos with large rooms bathrooms and large viewing windows.
They have a great terrace and the best I would say in Murren where you can eat and drink under the shadow of the Eiger.
We have been to a Switzerland three times before but never to Murren. Rick Steves was right when he said “ if heaven isn’t what they’ve said it is then send be back to Murren” . Definitely in our top five now and we’ve been all over Europe. The views from the apartment are breathtaking and the apartment itself is all you could want. Comfy beds, couches, and great showers. A world class experience.
Great location. My husband and my grown up kids stayed here for a long weekend. Very nostalgic for us all here. My kids learnt to ski here 20 years ago where we would book the hotel apartment which was opposite the hotel. That was demolished and the new apartment is now there. Great apartment with gorgeous views. Breakfast was included which was greatly received.
The view from the eiger facing rooms is worth traveling 10,000 miles for. You won't believe your eyes.
It is right in between the train station and the cable car station. Most of Murren's restaurants are on the same street as the hotel.
The Hotel is at very good location opposite to Murren train station. The room was not very big but clean. The restaurant and bar on the ground floor and staff are very nice. The view of snowy mountain is great from the hotel
Absolutely gorgeous views from this apartment in the heart of the city. There was lots of space for my family, and we liked the comfy beds. Murren was our favorite place in Switzerland and we would love to go back some day.
The location in Mürren is excellent. The room - even though it was partially below ground - had a view of the Eiger. The staff were great, particularly in the restaurant, and the food was wonderful!
This hotel is located near the lift and the center of town. It worked perfectly for us. Fantastic views of the Alps and a great restaurant on the premises.
