All basic amenities were provided. The refrigerator was stocked up with milk and basic food items. This was very thoughtful . This is something other homeowners could replicate.

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts.
Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts. It is not nearly as touristic as the nearby Interlaken and offers the chance to enjoy nature including Reichenbach falls, glaciers and the Aare Gorge cozily. A perfect escape location with a real Swiss spirit.

It was a lovely town unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions most shops were close. However Meiringen is centrally located to Interlaken, Lucern, Grimmewald. All within driving distance. Will visit again in summer , hopefully the covid restrictions are no longer there

Meiringen is a quiet community, but for travellers like me, it's perfect. I use a Swiss Travel Pass so visit different places everyday, some quite far away. I've visited Switzerland 17 times and am already planning my net trip.

Charming town, great access point to mountains and close enough to Interlaken that you can access activities there but enjoy a quieter and more relaxing location as your home base. There’s also lots to do in the town including the Sherlock Holmes museum and lots of cute shops.

The scenery is just superb.
The scenery is just superb. I enjoyed hiking in the mountains above. The area is moist and green, and the aquamarine stream flowing through town from the Aarve gorge is very picturesque. I admit this was not my first time here. The only real issue was getting here and back from Geneva, which involved too many changes of train (four times on way back! - a problem when connections are tight and carrying a heavy suitcase)
The staff was friendly and welcoming upon arrival. They were very helpful in assisting my girlfriend and I with information on the local activities. The hotel was clean and the decore was amazing. Great location and the room we stayed in was cozy and inviting. The continental breakfast was wonderful and well prepared with a large selection of food and drinks. If I return to Meringen, without a doubt, I will be staying at the Hotel Dakota. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a hotel.
The location is very very good, the welcoming part was also nice, the receptionist was very friendly and nice and she spoke perfect english, the history of the hotel is also very interesting. The room is nice, everything was good, except for one thing that completely ruined our stay.
Oh, and by the way, I didn;t know anything about it before, but after checking in you get free transport ticket to local transport and it is amazing, as there is a lot to see around.
Great location in Meiringen! On a quiet street close to shops and dining and a great base to explore that valley of the Alps. The apartment was perfect! So cozy and cute, with all of the amenities you need, and still plenty of space to relax. Our host provided us with wonderful recommendations of nearby attractions and was very flexible with our check-in time which we greatly appreciated. We loved our stay and would highly recommend!
The owner was very helpful and friendly, giving us a lift from the station and helping us to carry bags to the apartment and giving a few ideas on activities. He spoke good English with me and Schweizer Dutsch with my kids and was very easy going. Meiringen is a lovely town for a weekend with kids, lots to do (the Kugeln walk is great for young ones, walking and marble races... cool)
The property is well located to every travel, specially while traveling with car.
Interlaken zone is 20 mins from the place, Meiringen itself is a great place also. 2 minutes for center, supermarket and more.
The staff was very friendly and the facilities are great. Also the room, kitchen an more was complete, modern and as expected.
We loved the place, recommendable :)
Room is quiet and clean. Love the bathroom. Reasonable breakfast buffet. Happy to see welcoming fruits in room. Good location - just next to train station and supermarkets. Not much to see in meiringen but a good option to stay away from crowds and short distance trips to brienz.
It's a simple travel hotel and the price is accordingly.
Overall that fit our expectation very well for our hiking trip.
The room, bathroom, breakfast... everything is severed nicely, clean, but simple.
The manager is very nice and helped with every request we had.
We were a family of 3. The room was 21m2, so not too big for 2 adults + 1 child, but still okay. Beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast was probably above average for Swiss standards. We found the room very clean. The hotel has its own (adequate) car park.
The apartment was very compleet.
It is very happily situated. Shops are around the corner, 2 supermarkets in walking distance.
In and near to Meiringen there is a lot to do for families. And walking opportunities.
The owner is very friendly.
The location is great - in the center of Meiringen, a short walking distance to the cable car and the restaurants. The owner was friendly and helpful. The facilities are comfortable and well designed up to the small details.
Location was very close to the cable car and close to the village. Also the Staff were very friendly. Parking direct by the Hotel, no extra costs. Breakfast was fine, good quality but nothing special.
