The private onsen is paid separately, it is pretty small and the water was not that warm, but it was enjoyable.

Great stay in an amazing ryokan with incredible onsen. Ikaho is a very serene and scenic town and the locals were very kind and welcoming. Lots of amenities for clients, such as karaoke room, private and public onsen, library, and all you can eat breakfast service. The onsen was incredibly refreshing and the 45 minutes are more than enough to relax and refresh.

The most amazing experience that has ever happened to us. The food is so amazing and delicious and all staff are very friendly. Despite the fact that some staff are not fluent in English, they have an electronic translator that will facilitate communication. Our stay at your fantastic hotel was the most enjoyable. We are very appreciative that we were able to stay with you. I appreciate all that you have done! We’ll be back soon! :)

It was my first experience with hot springs and I enjoyed them a lot. Why not a full smile for bed: my arthritis and futon were not the best friends, haha! But that was not hotel's fault. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore everything there is to see in Ikaho and just around the corner from a bus stop to explore surrounding areas. We will be back to stay at Mimatsukan. I cannot fault this Ryokan, although it was expensive I would say it was worth it to do once or a few times. I wish I had more time so I could stay another night.
