中津川温泉 ホテル花更紗, hotel in Araragi

Located in Ochiai, 14 miles from Ōi, 中津川温泉 ホテル花更紗 provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.

I explored the area, and it was very beautiful. The hotsprings were super relaxed. Breakfast/dinner was also delicious. And of course, very friendly staff. I asked if tattoos were okay for the hotspings, and they said it was okay. Although there was a sign saying no tattoos (as well on website), they seemed to be really nice about it & allowed it. Bonus points for that.

Guest House Motomiya, hotel in Araragi

Offering quiet street views, Guest House Motomiya in Nakatsugawa features accommodations and a shared lounge. This 2-star guest house offers full-day security and luggage storage space.

Keiko is delightful and truly enjoys hosting guests in her big traditional home. We were lucky to have the Sakura Room which was spacious with a sofa and two cushioned chairs that faced a window overlooking the trees and charming countryside. Futon beds were on top of thick foam bases, so we slept comfortably. At first I was hesitant to book a room with a shared toilet and shower facilities, but the two toilet closets are completely separate with their own doors, as are the two shower areas that have doors that completely close, making the space private. There are only three rooms total, so there was never a wait and the facilities are kept clean regularly. Dinner was a visual feast, featuring small plates of seasonal vegetables and local specialties. Keiko introduced us all to one another and we enjoyed talking about our travels and respective countries. It amazed me that someone who works so hard continues to find so much pride and joy in hosting guests. Keiko's home is actually right on the Nakasendo trail, which is 10 minutes walk up a short hill until you reach the Magome section of the Nakasendo.

I loved everything about this place. Absolutely the highlight of my trip. And funny enough, there was no other guests so I had the whole place to myself! The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

ties Camp Ground Nagiso, hotel in Araragi

Providing free Wifi, private parking, and a garden, the recently renovated property ties Camp Ground Nagiso offers rooms in Nagiso, 22 miles from Ōi and 22 miles from Enakyo Wonderland.

Beautiful location with very new and well designed facilities. Although we slept in a tent, it was as comfortable as any hotel rooms. If you are walking the Nakasendo, this place is ideal to stay between Nagiso and Nojiri. We woke up, had some breakfast and started walking right away. From the hotel, you can spend a good 3-4 hours in the beautiful woods and villages of Nagano. The owners were very helpful pointing us to the best route to Nojiri and giving us guidance on train schedules etc.
