Perfect remote, private location. A lot of attractions, towns, cities worth visiting are reachable by car from that location (e.g. Hallstatt, Obertraun, Salzburg). It‘s small but has everything you need for a few days vacation, grocery store and a few restaurants.Thi Hanh QuyenGermany - 10Scored 10

Beautiful location with lots to do, especially if you enjoy outdoor/adventure holidays: walking, hiking, biking and climbing etc. The views from the valley are beautiful though so also makes for a beautiful spot to relax with a good book. We will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed the walking trail near our house. We also enjoyed trying to walk around the lake. It was pretty warm that day and I didn't get half way before my family said I probably needed to go back (age 81). Two of them made it all the way around but one daughter stayed with me. It was good advice to go back as I was pretty pooped by then. Two of them went up the gondola and two of us stayed behind. One of my daughters walked other various trails there and also went to the castle ruins. I loved looking at the beautiful mountains and everyone was mowing and making hay while we were there. Was interesting to see how different it was from the way we do it in America. Gosau and Hallstatt are two of my favorite places.girley33United States of America - 10Scored 10
Gosau is a lovely place to stay.
Gosau is a lovely place to stay. The village is quite spread out, but this adds to the rural feel of village, which is very appealing. The residents are very friendly and helpful. The skiing is excellent. Gosau is well situated for short day trips to beautiful towns of Hallstatt and Bad Ishl. I could very easily live there full time. A charming place with incredible views from valley and whilst out skiing. Very good lift system out on mountains.

We loved Gosau.
We loved Gosau. Initially we wanted to stay in Hallstatt, but there were no available rooms for good price in any hotel there. So I checked the map for locations around and found Gosau. In the end it's so much better we've chosen Gosau as this place is so much more relaxed with not that many tourist. We'll definitely go back to this place if we are around. Highly recommended.AndorHungary

Jirka sport for bike rental is 2 minutes drive 🚗. Driving to Hallstatt is about 20 minutes drive Within walking distance, Ze-Cafe, which have great bakery and coffee to serve. Near Gosauseen lake a great place to hike. It has a lovely restaurant and cafe. Check-in instructions where very flexible. There is an ADEG store within walking distance to buy groceries. Kids loved the bunk beds and the Tischfussball. The room had a good amount of Cutlery and kitchen utensils.

Gabrielle is the best hostess - breakfast is typically at 8am but she offered to prep it at 7am when I told her I had to be in Salzburg at 9am.
