This place is lovely; the german side of the alps has something unique and Mittenwald has its own special character. The town and its surroundings are all easily explorable on foot and the public transport is so good that you don't need a car. Innsbruck and Munich airports are both easily connected and Garmisch is close by. Karawendel and Zugspitze lifts give panoramic views of the Alps and a good selection of restaurants finish the day off nicely!

Beautiful town with lots of things to do.
Beautiful town with lots of things to do. The scenery is spectacular, so many hiking and cycling options. The town is picturesque and has lots of beautiful little art and jewellery shops. The violin museum is great even if you don’t know much about violins! Lots of nice eating options. The people were really friendly. Next time we’ll stay longer.

Mittenwald is a very cute village in the Bavarian Alps.
Mittenwald is a very cute village in the Bavarian Alps. It has picturesque streets with nice buildings to walk around, a church to visit and the violin museum. It is also very close to a ski area and the Karwendel cable car. It was very quiet when we visited especially in the evenings and shops had limited opening hours (most were closed on Sunday and some were closing for lunchtime too the other days). In terms of food, there are various restaurants (mostly with German cuisine, some Italian and Indian) and some bakeries, although it is worth noting that not all of them stay open in the evenings.

Lovely people, great service everywhere.
Lovely people, great service everywhere. Driving is civilized and sensible, choice of eating out is great. Skiing and hiking are the best bits. Super close to Austria and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, too. You can visit Seefeld in 15 minutes. Best holiday in years.
Lovely pension property, located close to the centre of Mittenwald (5 min walk) & just around the corner from the local brewery.
Benny (our host) could not have been more helpful & advised us well on places to go.
Room 2 was very comfortable with a nice bathroom which has been recently freshly appointed. it also has a nice (compact) balcony with a pleasant outlook over the garden with a mountain view.
Breakfast was very good.
The place was spacious, very clean, and had everything that we needed. It even had dish soap and a sponge, which is a small, but very appreciated thing that some places don't have.
It was located close to Leutaschklamm, the Karwendelbahn, and the Lainbach Waterfall.
The living room/dining room space was big and open and was very comfortable for having extended family with us. Thanks so much for a great stay!
the hosts/owners were very helpful. this was our 5th visit to Mittenwald and we always took the train direct from Munich or Innsbruck to Mittenwald, however due to a recent train accident and repairs to the train tracks, there were no trains in/out of Mittenwald. One has to take bus service to nearest operating train station. The owners were very helpful in assisting me with bus/train connections.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and the location is superb in the centre of Mittenwald. The views of the mountains are lovely and the breakfast was excellent. Car parking is limited but available. At the time of our visit, the hotel did not have a restaurant for dinner but the town is only a few metres away and has plenty of restaurants.
Very cute alpine hotel located right in the walking area of Mittenwald. The restaurant was full both nights we stayed there and the food there was very good. Free parking is available. It could be a little tight during busy times I think, but it was fine while we were there and we had a compact car.
We would definitely stay here again.
This is a beautiful family-run hotel at one end of the pedestrian only street through Mittenwald. Staff were friendly and kind, breakfast was very good and the balcony in our room had outstanding views and was a great place for a beer and people-watching. Parking on site. Full compliments and we would stay again!
Super friendly hotel offering a fabulous breakfast. The views from the spacious balcony are quite stunning. (Pic).
Very welcoming atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Excellent value for money. I would definitely book this accommodation again in Mittenwald.
The view was outstanding! We loved looking at the mountains and looking down on Mittenwald. The apartment looked brand new and was very comfortable for the two of us! We appreciated the Alpenwelt card especially for transportation.
Lovely apartment located in a peaceful part of Mittenwald with a pleasant 15 minute walk into town down the side of the river.
Underground parking for motorbikes.
Comfortable & we enjoyed the outside seating area (Apartment II).
The view was spectacular, the property has a private pathway leading directly to Town, and the hostess Stephanie was lovely. Perfect. If we go back to Mittenwald we will stay at this location again, room #2!
Great location to explore Mittenwald and area around Garmisch Partenkirchen. Breathtaking views right from the windows..., Friendly and helpful owner and tasty ice cream and cheese right on side.
Staff was super friendly. I arrived long after check out and was left instructions on how to enter the hotel and my room. The views from any room will be absolutely stunning.
