It's a very small place, but with enough shops to buy food and also with some restaurants. larger cities are close to Sankt Andreasberg. If you want to rest then go there in the summer, it's perfect.

It's a very small town.
It's a very small town. It's fine as a base out of which to explore the rest of the Harz, but not much going on in the town. Even the Oster Feuer (Easter fire) was tiny and poorly advertised. The one very good restaurant we ate at was Rote Baer - I definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the area. And if you're a mountain biker, the mountain bike park looked like fun (we did the Sommerroddelbahn, which was ok).RuthieUnited Kingdom

There are nearby shops, restaurants and other places of amusement (hiking trails, sledding slopes, etc). Room was cleaned daily by a really nice lady and every morning we were served with an awesome breakfast spread in their breakfast room which has a very beautiful view. The owners are lovely and very attentive. From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out, they have been nothing but gracious. We felt like we visited family. This hotel has exceeded all our expectations!

Neighbors across the street are fields. And you can barely beat the view from the balcony! The name of the place is fitting! Breakfast is included, and I have seen a lot worse continental breakfasts. I could eat only about half of was set for my use.

We were allowed to get drinks from the bar and drink them anywhere on the property. The rooms were decently sized, the beds were fairly comfortable.
