Lovely little town , short bus ride to chair lift. good ski area but lack of snow in late March a real issue, by the time we left many runs closed. Its a family or couples resort , if your looking for nightlife and plentiful apres ski , its not for you. But for older couples its excellent, plenty places to eat , but you must book or no tables.

Traditional Savoyard village, so nice to walk around.
Traditional Savoyard village, so nice to walk around.
Plenty of restaurants, but most menus were the same, the only difference being price, so need to shop around. Main courses were expensive, eg lasagne around 20€?
Great place to access Le Grand Massif ski area, although the lift pass was expensive

I’ve been to Samoens a number of times and I’m still finding new things to do and see. A wonderful area for winter skiing and in summer there are lots of hiking trails, cycle riding, lovely park for kids with lots to do. Then there is Sixt and Morillion with their own facilities and of course the mountains to be explored - it’s a great place - very french with Savoyard cheeses and wines. Samoens is only 1 hour and 20 minutes by car from Geneva airport and easy to access

A really nice place.
A really nice place. I visited in the summer, I really enjoyed the hikes but you can also go down the river with kayaks, rafts etc, go horseriding, paragliding... lots to do outside of skiing! We had a local naturalist guide taking us to see marmots and showing us edible plants, that was quite a highlight! Otherwise, the city is doing a lot for public transportation, having no car that was a huge plus. The restaurant Grand Cret is absolutely delicious and with a fantastic view .... and even a veggie option! :)

Second visit to Samoens which is a pleasant village, we did not eat out much as in past experience it was busy and expensive so cannot comment on this visit. Pretty town which has all you would need to enjoy a great skiing holiday or even for a summer location. Very lovely walks along the mountain river.
The decoration of the whole hotel is traditional which adds a lot of charm to your stay. The room was big and clean. The staff was particularly nice and happy to help you with anything. The pool and spa are medium but nice enough for a nice relaxing moment after a sporty day. The location is perfect, in the small and charming Samoëns village, very close to hiking an skiing places - and with nice cafes, restaurants and typical cheese & bread shops!
It was most comfortable, with high quality bedding, comfy mattresses, and a well provisioned kitchen, utility and garage. It was spotlessly clean throughout.
The chalet is compact yet well designed providing a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area. Its open aspect to the rear affords a magnificent view of the mountains across and along the valley and a chance to sunbathe away from the Samoens bustle ten or so minutes walk away.
the apartment is very nice, large enough to feel comfortable. the kitchen is big and well equiped. the big salon is very confortable and cosy to stay all the family together. the hosts were very responsive, the communication by mail and phone before and during the stay was very good. the location is good, outside the village but close enough to reach ( 10 minutes walk)
Beautiful old property , lovely friendly owner . Easy separate private access to our room which was lovely . Great shower and bathroom . But most of all loved the enormous balcony with comfortable seating and great views . Great location , just a shortwalk into the village . Samoens is a beautiful village and easy access to ski in Flaine .
Excellent location 10 mins walk to the lift or free bus
Apartment was really high standard high quality fittings really clean like a 5-star hotel
Our house Jean-Claude and Marie were brilliant. Made sure when you everything there was to know about staying in Samoens thank you both.
Short drive to village and ski lifts
Good size for 4, sofabed was comfy
Free table tennis (but we didn't bring bats and balls)
Underground parking space a good option
Handy local pizza takeaway (but won't give change for pool table)
A very friendly and flexible host who also spoke English. The location is perfect, close to Samoens village, lift-cabin stations and skibusses. Simple and effective little apartment for a few days, good for the 2 of us.
Wonderful location, near Samoens centre but very quiet. Owners and staff immensely friendly and helpful, wonderful food and very homely / cosy....the bedrooms too. Nothing at all negative about this hotel.
Really great place to stay and welcoming staff. Hotel was really clean and very quaint. Perfect place to stay if you were planning a trip up the mountains . The food was also exceptional!
The breakfast is royal. It gives you all the energy you need to go skiing. The staff kindly turned on the sauna whenever I needed. They also offer parking in front of the hotel.
