The place is excellent — it was my 4th ski travel to this area (Ortizei, Selva di val Gardena), the only huge issue is that there is no direct connections from major airports — Milano, Bergamo, Verona (you could make from one of those). If you don't rent a car — the travel is ridiculous long and require several connections. Comparing to Andorra — there is regular direct bus connection right from the Barcelona airport to Andorra and across Andorra cities+villages (busses and shuttles). I don't understand why this area did not organised something like that, because you built HUGE ski infrastructure and made it complicated to reach it by travellers.

Ortisei is fine to overnight there, but what is much better is to use cable car and to go up to the mountains around. And not only in Ortisei but also in Santa Catarina and Selva...
This is really unforgettable.

Ortisei is a very cousy little village.
Ortisei is a very cousy little village. The main street is packed with shops and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance and there's plenty of choices. Not too crowded, but not a ghost town either. Just perfect for a laid back family vacation.

Ortisei is a beautiful and understated gateway to the Dolomites, we stayed at Hotel Planlim for 3 nights and definitely could have easily stayed an additional 1-2 nights. The town (and hotel) is super close to many outdoor activities and transport, and most of the town remains open even during shoulder season (i.e., October) when the bigger regions slow down.
We loved the staff, the breakfast, the tea time, the room, the hotel, and basically everything that was offered! The hotel is a quick 15-20 min walk from town, and we did not have a car and navigated it very easily. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the staff was so accommodating. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the mountain for skiing so you don't have to lug all of your belongings with you. We also loved the sauna. Comfy bed, big room, great view. Would definitely go back! Very friendly and accommodating environemnt.
The location is superb - Only 5 mins walk to the center of Ortisei. The apartment is very well-finished and utterly solid. The beds are comfortable and everything was above my expectations. Wifi was also good and consistent. Nice addition of free passes for the city spa as well. Cristine was easy to contact and very hospitable. The views from the apartment up to the Seiser Alm chair lift rival anything that city center hotels have to offer at a much higher price. I would 100% recommend staying here.
Fantastic little mountain hotel, truly ski-in/ski-out (if you are staying on Alpe di Suise side and skiing back on Pilar, on Seceda side, walking involved, but free shuttle is offered for return). Very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, ski gear storage, sufficient guest parking. Great communication with the hosts, and very helpful with late checkin and anything else we needed. We would absolutely stay here again when visiting Val Gardena area.
It was more than expected, surely better than the photos in Booking. The host was very nice and offered help every time and there are a lot of facilities that are included (Jaccuzi, Sauna, washing machine, breakfast, espresso machine). Also, the location is right in the middle of Ortisei, a few minutes of walking from restaurants, supermarket, and cable cars. Would define come again when visiting Ortisei!
Everything at Pra Palmer was perfect. The hotel is located in the centre of Ortisei and it is very quiet. The breakfast was phenomenal. The staff was all super friendly. I also really liked the decoration and the details at this hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Will definitely come back again next year (with my husband this time hahaha).
The property was super clean and well decorated. The owners of the Hotel were really kind to us and all the residents too. this property deserves 5 star instead of 3 in comparing to the other 4 stars properties in Italy, location, breakfast and facilities were great. definitely, I will stay again in this Hotel whenever I visit Ortisei.
We loved our time at this hotel! The room had a great view, was spacious, and cozy. As vegetarians, we were happy with the vegetarian menu, which served delicious food. The spa was fantastic too. It’s a great spot for skiing, especially if you have your own car. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay!
Very causy hotel, the room was cleaned every day, the towels were changed every day, free wi-fi ( good internet connection), tasty breakfast, delicious cappucino, convenient ski room, free car parking. The hotel is located in a peaceful area, good location that allows fast access to ski areas ( by car).
The family that runs this hotel is really hospitable. My room was very clean and comfortable with a small balcony and incredible view. The strong shower pressure with steaming water is much appreciated after a long day in the snow. Breakfast is included and delicious. The hotel is also pet-friendly :)
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of Italy. The reception was very competent, knowledgeable and helpful. Local bus passes were provided, which is so good for going to the nearby tourist interests. Comfortable beds and balcony is a bonus. Excellent breakfast and dinners by the restaurant.
We really enjoyed our stay, the owner had made us feel super welcome and helped us with some tips how to get to the ski lifts etc.
we could also use the ski storage which was really helpful and there is bus in front of the hotel which took us all to way to the ski lift
Not sure if the staff member was the owner or manager but very kind and exceptionally helpful. Great location in centre and only 10 minute walk to chair lift up mountain. Ortisei is beautiful and has stole my heart. We will definitely be returning to hotel in future.
Apartment was immaculate, tons of room for 3 couples with two separate large sitting areas. Easy walk to center of Ortisei and the 3 lifts for hiking. Christian was great to work with, even mailing a left behind pair of earrings back to the States for us!
great place just on the outskirts of ortisei.
during the day time there are frequent busses in to the town ( which are free)
right beside a river stream. great view from the balcony.
all you need for self catering provided as well.
Buffet breakfast offered an excellent selection.
Staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable.
Hotel is in a peaceful location just outside Ortisei with plenty on-site parking and alternative bus transportation to the town itself.
Truly elegant 5 star property in central Ortisei. Large beautifully appointed rooms, extremely helpful stay, best buffet breakfast of any hotel I have every stayed it. Lovely spa, great bar.
Everything's was great and so nice, the owner of hotel was so kind and helping us every time and always smile 😁
Thank you much for here , sure I recommend it
Perfect location. Skibus directly in front of the hotel. Cabins to slopes within the walking distance. Super pizzeria in the hotel:) All staff very pleasant.
