The breakfast is simple but very good.
The location is great for those who plan on skiing, provided the tracks are open.
The town is cosy and the view is awesome.

This was either my fifth or sixth stay at Albergo Ristoro Sitten, and it definitely won’t be the last. Being able to stay up at such high elevation, amidst such spectacular vistas, in such total comfort, with such fantastic staff and unforgettable food is an experience I want to repeat over and over and over. Every time I have spent time here, it’s been one of the highlights of my whole summer. It’s impossible to do justice to the natural beauty of the surroundings—it really might be the most stunning landscape I’ve seen in my life—but combining it with such welcoming people and such comfort is a real treat. Cannot recommend it more highly. 😍
Set in Staffal just 656 feet from the Monterosa ski elevators, Ellex Eco Hotel offers free WiFi and Alpine-style rooms with mountain views and satellite TV.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is delightful. They speak English well - if that would be important for you. Also, the ski rental place is close and they give you discount if you stay at Ellex hotel. The super small grocery store is also close. It takes about a 3-5 minute walk to reach the ski lifts. My only issue was with the breakfast: it is a very nice buffet breakfast with really lots of choices, BUT they serve you only one plate of meat (sausage or ham), and if you want to eat something salty other than cheese, then you have only omelette options. Also, there are no vegetables at all! At one point I bought my own tomatoes at the aforementioned grocery store. But if you eat only sweet stuff for breakfast then you will love the place. As I said, other than these two tiny issues I had no problem with the other, or with the breakfast. So I can recommend it to anyone. One more thing: my view from the balcony was amazing at the mountains, so the location of the hotel is another extra.

Located right on the slopes.
Large bedroom, spacious wardrobe and well equipped kitchen.
Has 2 balconies with chairs and table, so you can spend time outside.
Covered parking.
Featuring a stone façade and exposed wood beams, this classic Alpine-style property is only 1640 feet from the Monterosa Ski Resort. It offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and a balcony.
The buses run frequently. Hotel offered a shuttle to the Punta Jolanda lift, but if you want to get stuck right into it we'd recommend driving or the bus up to Staffal lift area for quicker access to Champoluc.
Little shop up in the village is well stocked - great bread, cheese, wine and treats. Also good for food-based gifts to take home.

The breakfast service was odd and slow but this is because of Covid - breakfast was ok but hotel was great value so no complaints. The hotel is a bit old fashioned but the photos show this so we were expecting it and it was good value so again no complaints. It was very clean and in a great location with the lift just outside. There is a ski shop 2 mins away and a lovely bar with a bigger bar round the corner and enough good restaurants in walking distance for the week. Sarah on reception was super helpful!
Fortunately, your breakfast corresponded better to what is touted as "Continental breakfast", as opposed to the saccharin-and-caffeine-kick combination of coffee, croissants and cakes proffered in many hotels down in the Po Plain. At your current price, I still would have liked to see an option of even healthier food, including dark rye bread, much as I have found in similar accommodation in Trentino and Alto Adige.
The room was charming and well appointed. The staff were super helpful. I had a private booking for one night and another booking with a group for another night, with one day in between for an overnight on the mountain. For the price of a late checkout, the hotel staff allowed me to leave my stuff in the room and come back to the same room the next day. They were very accommodating!
Very friendly and clean, the hotel excels for its food. Daily dinner menus with a wide variety of well-prepared choices, and a competent breakfast. Nice bar with free snacks. Parking. Boot room. Sauna. Rooms are compact but very nice. Free WiFi. Ski bus. Facilities for children. Pleasingly you can control the temperature of each room - so many ski hotels are overheated.
The most helpful owner we've met on our trip!! Giorgio made it the perfect stay. We are touring on a motorcycle and he gave us great detailed recommendations. The hotel has been refurbished, so the nice size rooms have modern conveniences, but still maintain a lot of character
Good breakfast and dinner choices
Would love to stay again if ever in this beautiful area again.
Beautiful hotel with very warm and comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast in the morning with great service by Barbara and the lady owner in the background. The staff are all great and Bruna behind the reception goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable and with lots of suggestions about where to eat, ski or things to do.
Close to the two main ski lifts.
We had a fantastic time at this great hotel. We booked including dinner, the choice was great and the food was amazing. We got great advice on hikes in the mountains, that started just at the doorstep of the hotel. A visit at the wellness in the afternoons made our stay complete. We will be back! Thanks!
Lovely spacious room and helpful hostess. Fantastic choice at breakfast served by friendly staff at charming nearby hotel. Great to be able to use hotel boot room which is right next to the ski lift so no need to trek about with ski and boots.
The staff was really nice, fluent in English and pampered my alone-travelling wife with extra care. The hotel rooms are spacious and the spa is suberb. This is a great place.
The breakfast at the hotel was great, especially the home made cakes and the steam and sauna great after skiing. The staff at the hotel were very helpful.
