The staff was very nice, very hospitable and it was great that they all spoke English as well as Japanese. All of the complimentary snacks and drinks and the complimentary wine card and items in the room refrigerator were wonderful and very much appreciated. Also the complimentary hygiene products were high quality as well as the spa products. The food was delicious and there was such an amazingly variety.

It's a great place with many greeneries and picturesque scenery. I came in August, which is summer, and after experiencing it in summer, I feel like want to stay again in fall! It's easy to reach there, there is a bus once every day, but you have to reserve it first. And it's free! I eat breakfast and dinner by Jozankei Hotel, and it was also a great experience! There were also mini-festival that we come to love and Jozankei Night Luminaire, which is awesome for photo hunting!

A beautiful hotel.
A beautiful hotel. Thoughtful amenities are placed throughout the facility which help you slow down and relax! I was surprisingly pleased with a lack of “hustle & bustle” feel of a typical Onsen resort. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A great breakfast and dinner buffet setup, a large room, great onsen, right where you want to be in Jozankei, there is very little to complain about! The staff are very professional and are very organized. During the buffet they guide you so you know how the flow should be and the usual chaos you see is pretty much nonexistent. The onsen facility contains both indoor and outdoor pools and both were fantastic. Right behind the hotel is a beautiful mountain view that i gorgeous in the snowtime.
Everything about the hotel. My first time experiencing Ryokan and it was wonderful. Unlike the review, quite a few staff at the reception area were able to speak English and they are friendly to foreigners. The outdoor onsen was great and with adequate privacy. Room was a bit too warm during winter with the heater turned on. There are timing for free beer and sakes, sochu etc. It's very worth it if you enjoy drinking.
Great location, and the onsen was amazing. I loved the variety of baths. The outdoor bath has a good view of the mountains. I loved the shampoo bar because there were a lot of options! I also enjoyed the Birch Terrace foot bath. The breakfast had a lot of great options, and I got a beautiful seat by the window. I didn’t go to the restaurant or lounge, but they looked like a lot of fun.
The hotel is situated in a convenient location - just a couple minutes' walk from most attractions in Jozankei, including the Footbath of Friendship, Shira no Taki, and Gensen Park.
We booked a traditional Japanese room which was equipped with comfortable futon beds. The futons were extremely warm and toasty even in the middle of winter.
We loved staying at the Jozankei Daiichi Hotel Suizante! The whole experience (room, onsen, scenery, food, etc.) was the highlight of our entire trip. The whole atmosphere was so cozy. The lounge area with included snacks and beverages was also a nice touch. We would definitely come back and recommend the location to others.
I don't often take the time to write a review, but felt I had to after my stay at Chalet Ivy. My entire stay was exceptional. From the check-in to check out there is nothing I would change. The staff are exceptional, the food wonderful, the facilities incredible and the view is sublime. Perfect.
Their attention to detail is outstanding. Dinner & breakfast were amazing. The rooms were wonderful. Loved the view of the river. The private bath w the dome was wonderful. Loved our stay. Would love to come back again.
very convenient location.. near to parks and Jozankei shrine
Half board dinner was wonderful.. 5 star presentation

The open air bath very awesome.
The food breakfast and dinner excellent.
The staff very helpful
Everything priceless in this hotel
private onsen in the room, best taste and fresh seafood, great staff, good lactation, best facilities especially shampoo made my hair more volume, love it
Nothing much, come to think about it. Just a normal onsen hotel I have been before. Not worth the additional $$$ we paid expecting a superb experience.
