Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.VillageOneJapan

We accidentally left behind some items when we checked out and the hotel is sending those items to us through the mail. As before, on our first visit here, the staff was SO kind to us and our dog. The breakfast is amazing and there are so many things to do in this part of Yamanashi. Having an onsen in the hotel is so nice after a day of hiking. Uchu brewing down the hill is a perk as well...

The breakfast was yum, the rooms were absolutely beautiful and the onsen was magical. It was a treat to be right next to the Keith Haring museum which was also fantastic.

I was welcomed by a nice and friendly host and the rooms were very clean. All amenities were provided in abundance, which was really nice. The building faces the station, but you don't hear the passing trains at all.
