Check the weather forecast before planning your trip to Kawaguchiko, as beside the view of Mt Fuji there's very little to do there, also restaurants are very rare and working hours is almost not existent, everything closes early or not open at all... so be mindful of the meals you should carry with you.

This is absolutely worth visiting when coming to Japan.

This is absolutely worth visiting when coming to Japan. There are endless things to do and everywhere you look, its so picturesque having Mt Fuji in the background. There are heaps of places to eat although they do get pretty full quickly and it does get packed with plenty of tourists during peak season. there are bike rentals you can hire to get around. Definitely stay for a few days in Fujikawaguchiko instead of competing with the crowds on a day trip, more convenient that way.

Stayed in this hotel on two weekdays. The staff kindly upgraded my room to the Japanese room with the lake view, that was a surprise and welcoming bonus. Their customer service was wonderful. The staff were attentive, easy to communicate, and friendly. The traditional Japanese room with futon was lovely. It's dated but clean and warm. The location is nearby two bus stops so easy access to main attractions. The bus schedule may not be as frequent on weekdays. It is possible to walk to nearby attractions if you are a walker.

The hotel is near Kawaguchiko station and provided shuttle service. Hotel has assigned us a room with Mount Fuji view which is a plus! We loved the onsen at basement and rooftop. Dinner was served in our room but we prefer to have dinner at dining area instead of our room (the food smell stayed in the room for a while). We received excellent service from Mr Oda during dinner service. Breakfast was served as a set and we were seated near the window (at level 2 dining area) with a nice view of Kawaguchiko Lake.

The service by the hotel staff were excellent and couldn't expect more than what they provided from the greetings on arrival to our departure after our stay. The room was comfortable, bigger than most of ryokans we stayed in the past. The kaiseki dinner was exceptional. Every single dish was tasty and beautifully presented. Highly recommend booking a private onsen on your arrival (very popular) if you want to experience Japanese onsen! They also provide shuttle service from and to Kawaguchiko station.

We stayed at the japanese style room. The futon was comfortable. It had a great view of the lake. The breakfast has a lot of optiona and it is delicious. The offer a special dinner that is amazing. The private onsen was clean. The staff is very kind and they alway have at least one that speak english.

It was very near to the ogi station, reachable by red line bus. The room was very cosy - comfy bed and clean, although it has the standard squeezy japanese hotel room size. For queen size bed room - can fit 2 carry on luggage. It wont fit if you have larger luggage. Love the bathroom and ammeties provided, self-service at the lobby. Free breakfast was acceptable for the price we paid. it has convenient luggage lockers near the lobby. Contactless check-in using the kiosk in lobby.

The hotel is a ryokan, allowing you to have a traditional Japanese experience. We had a lovely tatami room with a view of the lake, and finished our stay with a massive Japanese breakfast in the dining room. We didnt find time to use the public baths with the Fuji views. There is also an observatory room with a view of Fuji. The staff were helpful and super polite. The surrounds are so peacefully quiet. Our room here was probaby as big as 3 of our other hotel rooms combined!

The traditional Japanese nature of Hotel Asafuji was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful with a great eye for detail. The dinner and breakfast that we had were SO good and beautifully prepared and presented at our own table. The onsen was great (a wonderful experience) and, of course, there was Mt Fuji visible (between times of cloud cover) from our room's window which also had an excellent view of Lake Kawaguchiko.

Awesome lake view from the hotel lobby and our own room. We stored our luggage before check-in and went off to explore. When we are back, the luggages were already placed in our room. We booked the private onsen which was great. Their public onsen is just as good and includes a sauna room. The staff will help you to park your car when you arrive. This is our second time staying in this ryokan!

Near to lake and station. Clean hotel and room. Beautiful japanese breakfasts. The hotel driver is a person of warmth. I have travelled in and around Tokyo for two weeks and he is the first person who sees me as a person to relate and not a foreigner problem to trouble shoot. The hotel trains future hospitality professionals and the trainees are eager to learn.

I would recommend this hotel, the facilities were great and we had a good sleep.
