Please keep in mind, that Queralbs is a tiny place in the middle of the mountains between Ribes de Freser (a village in the valley bellow) and the Nuria (another "valley" higher up in the mountains). Queralbs have nice views, but there is no-where to walk around the village (except couple of streets)
Hiking trails are accessible from there, however - the one towards Nuria is not suitable for small children, or during rain etc - it is a long walk - it shows on the map as only about 6-7 km, but its going up and down, up and down and most of the time the surface is very rough with medium size stones.
The Queralbs can be a pleasant place to stay, but there will be nothing much to do except for having one hiking trip and enjoying the views

I Queralbs itself there is nothing at all to do.
I Queralbs itself there is nothing at all to do. Its in the mountains and short from looking at the beautiful scenery there is nowhere to walk around cause the area is pretty much inaccessible.
There is a trail to Vall De Nuria. It is very beautiful, however it is about 14 km on paths with stones and lots of ups and downs, it is not suitable for young children and can be difficult to anyone else too. Keep in mind - there is no exit point, you can only either keep going or turn back and either way its now easy.
Keep in mind - the cremalera is not cheap - round trip from Ribes de freser to Vall de nuria is 25 EUR. If you only travel with cremallera to Queralbs - it is cheaper.

Queralbs is a scenic and quaint mountain village with several good options for food and drink. Although we visited in the summer, I imagine it's a great winter destination as well, for winter sports and recreation.
We went for a winter hiking trip from Ribes de Freser to Puigmal and stayed here in Queralbs for one of the nights of our hikes. It’s a lovely and cosy stay with incredible views over the mountains. With the cold temperatures, the fire place was a very welcome part of the living room. The hostess, Magna, was incredibly kind and even though my Spanish (or Catalan) isn’t the best - it was easy to communicate with each other! Highly recommend staying here if you are around the area.
This hotel is in an isolated place in the mountains. It serves as a good short escape from the heat in the summer and you get to enjoy the extraordinary scenery, go horse riding or take a teleferik. In winter it serves as a ski resort. Dinner was delicious with many options. Staff were amiable and attentive. There is a large store with all kinds of equipments and foods/drinks and many vending machines and ticket buying machines.
We stayed on a very cold November night and our room was really warm and comfortable. The decor was very tasteful and the staff helpful and friendly. Queralbs is one of the most beautiful villages in the Catalan Pyrenees and an excellent base for hiking or mountain sports. I would definitely recommend a stay at Hotel L'Ortiga Blanca.
Everything was wonderful. Spacious room, amazing bathroom (showers!), beautiful view from the balcony and nice meals in the restaurant downstairs. And friendly people working there, too, which is always nice when one is travelling. Stay here if you possible can! it is right next to the Queralbs rack railway station.
It was a great place for a dog, there were a lot of people with dogs, but the property has so much space - so it is great , a lot of pet friendly facilities inside .
I like there are a lot of beautiful tracks right outside the hotel , great location for hiking . Amazing breakfast!
Estelle was AMAZING. The food was absolutely delicious, portions were MASSIVE, and Estelle went out of her way to make my stay in Queralbs enjoyable. She arranged rides for me, and was so so accommodating. I definitely will return, it was like staying at home.
Gorgeous location and I thought all the food and drinks were incredibly reasonable considering the location. I thought the hotel was cozy and had lots of amenities, everyone who worked there was so nice and accommodating! I would definitely recommend it
This hostal is well located in the charming village of Queralbs and is an ideal base for the hike to Valle de Nuria. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The food is very good and great value.
The location is amazing and unique, the food is good and the staff is extremely friendly. We loved our stay, the walks in the mountains around were wonderful. The hotel is pet friendly and our dog enjoyed his stay a lot. Totally recommended
Excellent room with a great view over the mountains. Possibility to eat in the restaurant of the hotel for a fair price with a generous menu! I would love to go back!
