We liked the historical aspect. However, we thought the " organic" was being taken a little to seriously. We're all in favors of choices, and didn't like having this view pushed so hard on us almost every where we went in town.

Nelson has great character.
Nelson has great character. Beautiful buildings, excellent restaurants and an amazing setting on. kootenay Lake. The only issue we had was parking was difficult to find but then, it was Valentine’s Day so maybe it’s not always so bad.

It is beautifully situated and the setting is picturesque. However the town is not pretty with too many ugly buildings of an industrial nature near the shoreline.

Stunning little city with independent shops and eateries all within a couple of blocks. The river walk to the park and beach was lovely. Even the scenery from the car journey to get to Nelson was fabulous!

Nelson is a great place to get some exercise by just walking everywhere up and down the hills to get a view of the town and surrounding area from Gyro Park, or hike up to Pulpit Rock,
Nelson has a great waterside park with a great beach, kayak rentals etc
The rooms are very nicely decorated; spacious; well laid out, clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were so very comfortable, and the room felt more like an upscale apartment than a hotel suite. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe at this property and the staff was pleasant and prompt to respond to my requests. I look forward to returning to this lovely boutique hotel!
Nelson is a lovely town, with plenty to see and do. The property was very close to the town, but not disrupted by the noise or people visiting. Having off street parking was vital, as we saw very strict parking enforcement officers in action. There was plenty of space in our rooms, with a very well equipped kitchen area; everything we needed was there.
Location was walking distance (if you’re in decent shape) to the Baker st. with all the shops and restaurants you could want. The room was well equipped to cook a meal, just enough space for 2, with two windows on either side to let air flow. Clean and safe. Small bbq area accessible to hotels guests that we didn’t use but would be very useful.
The location is fantastic. Just an 18 min drive away from downtown nelson. Great place to stay as a home base. Quiet hotel. The bed was really comfy and we slept soundlessly. The food at the restaurant was tasty - try the LAKSA!
MeiMei (owner) was lovely and accommodating. Really cheerful and available to us when needed.
We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom suites with a private balcony overlooking the lake. Very spacious, comfortable furniture, full kitchen. Large common outdoor area to roam around in, and out of the hubbub of downtown Nelson. Mei Mei is a very gracious host, and runs a great onsite restaurant with excellent food.
Seriously awesome location. Great sports bar downstairs...AMAZING restaurant connected.. Steakhouse is cost expected for the excellent quality of the food.. Location is epic for being able to enjoy the center of town. Parking can be tricky, but the staff in all areas of the hotel are friendly and helpful.
The room was amazing, definitly stay in the Sycamore room if you can! Super clean and beautilful lighting! The bed was absolutly amazing and comfy!! The bathroom was large and had its own AC. I would stay here again and would defintinly recomend to anyone staying in Nelson!
Super comfortable and relaxed. Felt like staying in your own place away from home. Great location and parking. Warm. Recycling. The fully fledged kitchen in the room was ideal for when we wanted to make dinner at home. If I'm back I'm Nelson I will try to stay here again .
The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The common area was handy with a microwave, fridge, and paper coffee cups. The patio is very pretty with lots of flowers and plants. A very convenient location in Nelson, close to dining, shopping, and the lake.
Amazing staff that was very polite kind and helpful. Very well preserved and updated historical hotel. Loved that they had the opportunity to utilize the sister property with pool and other amenities. We did not use these however on this visit.
Great reception staff, huge room. Daily housekeeping to a high standard. Great hot tub with fresh towels. Amazing restaurant linked to hotel. Just a minutes stroll up the road to where all of the shops & restaurants are.
Great location on Baker Street in Nelson. Good restaurant on-site, and others nearby. Parking just across the street. Confortable beds, very clean, good wifi, attractive decor. Friendly helpful front desk staff.
We have stayed at the Hume many times over the years and found it to be an excellent hotel. The staff is warm and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Their restaurant is excellent.
Location was great, beds were comfy, LOVED the sink and mirror in the room. Showers were clean and always available. Will stay here when I visit Nelson again.
Beautiful hotel, perfect location. Staff were excellent. We will stay again, maybe just a different room choice. The room we did stay in was perfect, though.
Hotel was clean and easy to book. The room had a great view of the lake and was comfortable. They even allowed us to use the pool and weight room nearby!
